Is it a good option to drop for one year if I'm not satisfied with rank which I got in Medical entrance? Will my low scores in PCMB effects my chances in admission procedure for next year?

    Hello sir/madam
Is it a good option to drop for one year if I'm not satisfied with rank which I got in Medical entrance? Will my low scores in PCMB effects my chances in admission procedure for next year?
    thanks in advance

    Hi,
I will not prefer to drop if you have got atleast a college despite of your low ranks. If you just haven't got anything in the counseling this year only then think of dropping. It will drop your rank even more next year as students are very enthusiastic at the start of the dropping the year but as the time progresses the enthusiasm is all gone and by the time the paper comes no one likes to study the same things again and again which one has also studied the previous year.90% cases are like this only where the student would have got a better college in the first attempt than what it gets after dropping a year.If your low scores in PCMB in 12th are crossing the eligibility criteria(generally 60%) marks of the entrance tests then it won't be a problem and only your marks and the rank in the entrance will be required for admission into the college. So think twice before dropping and if you do drop then make sure that you study really well and prove the year you have dropped worth it.
    All the best.

If you are not satisfied with your rank then you must drop one year. You need to work hard, work hard and make sure that you score more marks next year. You can join some coaching institutes to prepare for next medical exam. You will surely get goo rank next year.

Also the marks of PCMB 12th generally doesn't matter while taking admission in medical college. But most of the colleges have some minimum criteria of marks that is required for taking admission in college. This minimum percentage required is varies from college to college. Generally it is 55% for some colleges it is 60%. So if you have marks greater than 60% then there is no need to worry. In other case you need to see the colleges which has criteria of less marks.

All the best for your future.

You should join any college you get, but don't drop a year. A year is too much. My friend dropped 2 years for MBBS, now he is doing a job of clerk on 12th basis. Join any college, next year give exams again if you get good rank then leave present college and join better.

Yes, it may prove a good course of action to drop for one year and thoroughly prepare for medical entrance exam, but there are some points in this regard which should be
considered by a student before again utilizing one more year for the preparation of medical entrance. In my opinion, these following points should be kept in view before taking
    such a decision:-
1)Will your parents really appreciate your decision:
In many cases it is generally observed that the parents want their child to be a doctor, and in such circumstances they consider that it is the responsibility of their
child to realise their dreams for her. But some times it may happen that the child is not really interested in becoming a doctor or it may be possible that the child
do not have the required potential to qualify such big examinations.

If we consider the other case, then it may be possible that a student dreams to be a doctor, and his or her parents respect his or her dreams. But slowly and gradually
they realise the true potential of the child, and in their opinion, the student may work very hard but then also he or she would lag behind in such big competitive
exams. There may be better options available for that student and he or she must consider that options once, before blindly running for the fulfillment of his or
    her desire.

In other words, in my opinion you must consult your parents and should try to give them a view of your actual condition, then they would definitely advice you
and considering their advice you must take the final decision.

2)Personal interests and potential of the candidate-
This point has great significance for any individual. You must deeply think and analyse what you want to do in your life.
Many students opt for medical stream because it may be a trend at that time(maximum students were selecting this stream) or because all of their friends were opting for
for this stream. Same is the case with medical field, many students go for this field because their friends are moving into this sector or we can simply call it peer pressure.

So, i would suggest you that please consider your inner desire. Do not take any decision hastily and take your time before deciding any course of action.
And another important point is that realize your own potential and then decide would you be able to face all the hurdles which would obstruct your way
while pursuing the course of action.

And as far as the low marks are concerned in PCMB(physics, chemistry, maths and biology), it would not affect your admission procedure in any college provided,
you are satisfying the minimum criteria required to secure a seat in that college or minimum percentage required to appear for a particular examination.
