    Is it a good idea to go for M.Tech or M.S after B.Tech in Civil Engineering? If yes then in what way?

    Is it good to go for M.Tech or MS after B.Tech civil engineering ? and in what way ? please help

    Yes, it is really good to pursue M.Tech or M.S course after B.Tech in Civil Engineering. Admission to both these courses is offered through entrance exams. GATE is the test for admission to M.Tech courses in India. Those who qualify the test can seek admission in top institutes like IIT’s. M.S degree in civil engineering is usually offered by Universities outside India. GRE score is necessary to have admission to the course. ILETS or TOEFL score is also found necessary in this case.

    Hello friend,
    It is good for your future career , if you go for M.Tech or M.S. after B.Tech in civil engineering. Today mostly companies are preferring post graduate engineers. If you complete M.Tech or M.S. , it will your value in job market. With M.Tech or M.S. you will also get stipend from government . If you want to do M.Tech then you have to appear in GATE exam, based on which you will get colleges like IITs and NITs. For MS you have to go in foreign countries for which you have to appear in GRE exam.

    Hai,

    Yes, absolutely it is a good idea to go for higher studies after completion of graduation degree's like B.Tech, BBA etc..,

    In the older generation students who has B.Tech degree are consider as the most valuable person,Even that B.Tech graduation has more value.

    But in the present generation every one is doing B.Tech.Every year nearly 2Lakh plus candidates are coming out with this B.Tech degree.

    If we want any job are any other else then we need some special talent to survive in this fast generation.

    If you do post graduation course like M.Tech or MS then your life will in a smoother way.Both the courses have their own importance and opportunities.

    If you want to go for M.Tech then you have to write GATE(General Aptitude Test for Engineering) entrance exam in order to get seat for M.Tech in reputed colleges like IIT's, NIT's and other universities.

    You will have chance of writing the GATE exam in the 3rd year itself.

    Normally this exam will conducts every year at the second Sunday of February.For this exam you have to concentrate more on your technical subjects and aptitude.

    If you got seat in IIT's or NIT's etc..,then government will give you sty-fund of nearly 7,000-8,000 every month.Which will be helpful for you to afford your own expenses without asking in your home.
    Its just like earn while you learn program.

    MS is a course offered in foreign states like US etc..,For this course you have to write GRE(Graduate Record Examination).

    For this exam you have to prepare more on the communication skills and advanced English language.They will conduct oral exam also in order to test your English pronunciation.

    If you scored good score in this exam then you can get admission in reputed universities like University of Massachusetts (Lowell), University of Missouri etc..,

    In addition to this GRE you have to write TOEFL exam. If you got good score in this exam then you can get scholarships.

    Other than GRE, IELTS is also one of the reputed exam where you can get admission in U.K, Australia.

    Is it good to go for M.Tech or MS after B.Tech civil engineering ?

    Yes it will good for you if you will go for doing master degree related t your field,that is either M.TECH/M.E in civil engineering.
    If in your future you want to get good jobs and basically managerial posts and works related to research fields then you will have to complete your M.TECH in this field.

    For getting admission for M.TECH/M.E in various prestigious colleges of India you will have to appear in GATE exam conducted each year basically for taking admission in IIT's for doing M.TECH.
    However for taking admission in other colleges of India for M.tech/M.E you will have to appear in this exam.

    This exam basically contains from the following sections .
    These are:-


    @FIRST PAPER

    MATHS
    RESONING
    ENGLISH
    GENERAL AWARENESS

    @SECOND PAPER

    QUESTIONS WILL BE FROM TWO PAPERS FROM YOUR RELATED SUBJECTS.
    The questions will be objective type.



    After completing GATE exam you will eligible for getting jobs in public sectors undertaking companies.
    These companies are:-

    BEL
    NTPC
    NTPPC
