    CTET is a central Teacher Eligibility test which is held for the teachers in CBSE Syllabus.But now it has been decided that by National Council for Teacher Education(NCTE) to include B.Com Graduates in the eligibility criteria for appointment of teachers in classes I to VIII

    The eligibility conditions are:
    For classes I-V:
    >BA/B.Sc with atleast 50% of marks and B.Ed qualification is also eligible
    For classes VI-VIII:
    >BA/B.Sc/B.Com with atleast 50% of marks and passed or appearing in 1 year B.Ed
    >Senior secondary or its equivalent with atleast 50% marks passed or appearing in final year Bachelor in Elementary EDucation
    >A diploma /degree course in teacher education recognised by NCTE only considered
    >Relaxation of 5%in minimum qualifying marks at BA/B.Sc for SC/ST and differently abled candidates.

    CTET(aentral teacher eligibility test),conducted by the centarl and state government of India,every year...
    Candidates who had completed their B.ed course are eligible for this test.
    This test is conducted every year to test the knowledge of every individual,wether they are eligible for the teacher post or not.If the candidates are failed to pass in this examination they are not eligible for the teacher posts...
    Eligibility criteria for applying

    *should have minimum of 60% in the B.ed course...
    *minimum qualification for the classes 6 to 8 is BA/BSC...
    *for clases 1 to 5th must have done senior secondary with minimum of 60% and also should done 2nd year diploma in elemantary education...
    *candidate should draw rs500/-for gen rs250/- application cost...

    CTET (Central Teacher Eligibility Test) is going to be conducted by Central Government of India from this year 2011. B. Ed Degree is not suficient to become a school teacher.     Hi dude,

    CTET stands for Central Teacher Eligibility Test.

    CTET exam is conducted by CBSE for recruting teachers for students from1 to 8th .

    These exam is conducted Once every year.

    For 1st to 5th :-

    You need to have passed the senior secondary with at least 50% marks .

    You can also apply if your in the final year of Diploma course.

    For 6th to 8th:-

    You need to have completed graduation in any streams with at least 50% marks.

    The exam consists of 2 papers.

    First paper for class 1st to 5th and seconf for class 6th to 8th.

    The exam is of 150 marks.

    If you are interested in teaching for both the batchs then you need to appear for both the exams.

    There is no age limit for this exam .

    So you can apply at any age.

    Application forms will be available from November.

    Last date of applying will be last of November.

    Last date of applying through post is 30th of November.

    Exam will be conducted in the month of Janurary mostly in the last week .

    Central Teacher Eligibility Test::

    The CBSE, New Delhi conducts the Central Teacher Eligibility Test for the recruitment of qualified aspirants to fill in the primary and lower primary teachers vacancies in CBSE.

    Those who are chosen in the written test have to appear for an individual interview

    Thereafter ; who clear all these procedures can expect employments as teachers in CBSE schools across the country.

    Structure and Pattern of the Central Teacher Eligibility Test


    Separate tests like Paper I and Paper II are conducted for Class I – IV and Class VI – VIII teachers.

    Both the tests are of objective type, which lasts for 1.30 hours.

    The test comprises of questions on Environmental Studies, Child growth and Pedagogy, Language and Mathematics.

    There will not be any negative marking in the test.

    Qualification Criteria for Central Teacher Eligibility Test

    The qualification criterion is different for Class I – V and Class I – VIII teachers.

    Class I – V:

    Aspirants should have passed the intermediate course in any of the streams from a recognized Board.

    Additionally, they should have done Diploma or graduation course in Elementary Education.

    The percentage requirement in the 10+2 course is 50% for B Ed candidates and 45% for B Ed aspirants.
    Class I – VIII:

    The educational qualification required to attend the test is a pass in the Bachelors’ degree program in Arts or Science disciplines with 50%.

    In addition, they should have done the graduation program in Education, which is recognized by the recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education.

    Application Procedure for Central Teacher Eligibility Test

    Applicants can procure forms either from CBSE, New Delhi or from the selected branches of Syndicate bank.

    After duly filling the forms, aspirants should send it to the CTET Unit by post or in person prior to the last date enclosing the relevant documents.

    They can also rely upon the online modes for submitting the CTET forms

    Eligibility Criteria for the same :

    Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with minimum 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2- year Diploma in Elementary Education.

    Graduation (B.A/B.Sc.Ed or B.A. Ed/B.Sc.Ed.) with minimum 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed).

    Application Procedure for CTET :

    You have to fill the application form through the website,

    Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET)

    Exam pattern :

    CTET will consist of multiple choice questions (MCQs) each carrying 1 mark. There will be 150 MCQs for the primary stage test and 210 MCQs for Elementary Stage. There will be no negative marking. The exam will be for 90 minutes.

    Eligibility for CTET :

    For primary stage (Classes I - IV) :
    You must have senior secondary education with at least 50% marks and 2 year diploma course in elementary education.
    For elementary stage (Classes VI – VIII) :

    CTET means Central Teachers Eligibility Test.The ministry of HR and govt of India are conducting the CTET exam.


    1. CTET can be applied to schools of the Central Government (KVS, NVS, Tibetan
    Schools, etc.) and schools under the administrative control of UT of Chandigarh
    and Andaman & Nicobar Islands.

    2. CTET may also apply to the unaided private schools, who may exercise the option
    of considering the CTET.

    3. Schools owned and managed by the State government/local bodies and aided
    schools shall consider the TET conducted by the State Government. However, a
    State Government can also consider the CTET if it decides not to conduct the
    State TET.

    Cost of CTET Information Bulletin and Application Form

    a) For General/OBC candidates Rs.500/-
    b) For SC/ST/Differently abled candidates Rs.250/-


    Exam Pattern :
