    The CDS exam is conducted by the UPSC. The eligibility criteria’s will differ as per the particular defense wing that you are applying to. In case of IMA – the candidates should be unmarried male candidates between the age group of 19-24 years. The candidates should also have completed the graduation from any recognized university or college. The candidates should be graduates with science as their main subjects at the 12th class or B.Tech graduates to apply for the Indian Navy. The age limit should be between 19- 23 years and should be unmarried male candidate. The candidates who want to join the Air force should be a graduate with science as their main subjects at the 12th class or B.Tech graduates. Their age limit should be between 19-23 years. The candidates who clear the written exam have to attend the physical fitness test also.

    CDSE exam is conducted by UPSC every year twice to take qualified students into different defense service like
    >>Indian Air Force
    >>Indian Navy
    >>Indian Army

    Eligibility criteria for CDS exam:
    For Indian Air Force:

    You should have complete graduation degree in Engineering from a recognized university.
    And your age should be between 19 to 22 years.
    For Indian Navy:
    You should have complete graduation degree in Engineering from a recognized university.
    And your age should between 19 to 23 years.
    For Indian Army:
    You should have complete graduation degree with any stream from a recognized university.
    And your age should be between 19 to 24 years.

    And CDS exam notification will release in the month of Oct and June every year.And exam will held in the month of Feb and September every year respectively.

    CDS-I exam issuing of application form was closed on 28th Nov 2011.And exam going to held on 12th Feb 2012.
    CDS-II exam application form issues from 2nd June 2012 to 2nd July 2012.And exam will held on 16th Sept 2012.

    CDSE stands for Combined Defence Services Examination and this examination is conducted by UPSC, Twice in a year : CDS (I) and CDS (II). For this year Both CDS Examination was Successfully completed and If you are Interested in this examination then you have to complete your Graduation degree course first and then you are eligible to appear for this examination.

    The eligibility Criteria are Vary form Academy to Academy and the Recruitment of CDS Examination are made on these Academy :

    >> Indian Military Academy (IMA)
    >> Naval Academy
    >> Air Force Academy
    >> Officers Training Academy (OTA).

    For IMA and OTA : You have to complete your Graduation degree course in any discipline form a recognised University.

    For Naval and Air Force Wings : You have to complete your Graduation degree course in Engineering or B.sc and you have to study Maths and Physics as a compulsory Subjects.

    Age Eligiblity :

    Hi ,

    If you want to join defence then you have to appear for CDSE exam conducted by UPSC two times a year.

    Eligibility for CDSE:


    1.YOu should be a Indian citizen.

    2.You should be unmarrried.

    3.For airforce and navy-graduation degree with maths and physics or engg. degree(min 60%).But for army-any graduate degree(min.50%)
    and for Air-force you should have studied science subjects in 11th-12th class.

    4.Age should be between 19-24 yrs. for army(For IMA)19-25 for OTA,19-23 for air force.

    After clearing the exam you will be called for training in Air-force academy in Allahabad.

    Procedure for CDS:

    1. Three written exams one is of maths,one is of english,one is of general awareness.
    You have to clear the exam


    2.After that you will be called for SSB,its a process of 5 days.

    3.Medical test for 5 days.

    4.Merit list

    Pattern of CDS exam is follows:

    There will be three objective question papers of 100 marks each.
    1.English.
    2.General Knowledge.
    3.Mathematics.

    Important Dates:

    Hi ,

    combined defence services exam is a national level exam conduce by the UPSC twice a year for the entry into the Indian defence services. The main wings that it covers include the army, airforce and the navy mainly in the following divisions or the academies:
    *Indian military academy
    *Indian naval academy
    *Indian airforce acdemy
    *Indian officers training academy
    *Indian officers training academy for the women (non technical entry SSC)

    To be eligible for the Indian Airforce Academy wing you have to fulfill the following eligibility conditions:
    *you have to be an Indian national
    *you have to be a male unmarried candidate and cannot marry in between the training
    *you must be born not earlier than 2nd july 1989 and not later than 1st july 1993
    *you must be graduate in any discipline with physics and mathematics as one of the main subjects in the 10+2 or you must be a bachelor of engineering.


    The notification for the exam has already come and the last date to apply online only is 28th november 2011 and the exam will be conducted in the month of february.

    CDS ( Combined Defense Services ) is the wing of Indian Defense services academy that recruits and gives training to the young aspirants who joined in Indian Defense services through the qualifying examination conducted by UPSC ( Union Public Service Exam ).

    CDS exam is mainly for the aspirants who completed their Degree and those wanted to join in Indian Defense services can go for UPSC CDS exam conducted all over India Every year.

    CDS mainly recruits the aspirants for any of its wings like

    - Indian Military Academy ( IMA )- Dheradun
    - Indian Naval Academy - Goa
    - Indian Air Force Academy - Hyderabad
    - Officers Training Academy ( OTA ) - Chennai

    In order to appear for the UPSC CDS exam you must have to follow certain criteria put up the CDS services wing like

    The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) will hold the Combined Defence Services Examination , 2011 on 18th September , 2011 .

    This examination is conducted for the admission of :

    Eligibility Criterion For CDSE

    The CDSE (Combined Defense Services Exam) is conducted by the UPSC twice a year in the months of February and September

    A candidate is eligible to appear for the CDS Exam only if he fulfills the following minimum eligibility criterion :-

    1) The candidate must have completed his/her graduation from a recognized University

    2) The candidate must be the following age limits for admission to the respective academies :-
    Naval Academy : 19-22 years
    Air Force Academy : 19-23 years

    For IMA and OTA: Your age must be between 19-24 years.
    For NA: Your age must be between 19-22 years.
    For AFA: Your age must be between 19-23 years.



    Educational Qualifications:

    For IMA and OTA: You must be a Graduate degree holder in any discipline
    For NA: You must be a Bachelor of Science in Physics/Mathematics or Bachelor of Engineering in any stream.
    For AFA: You must be a Bachelor of Science in Physics/Mathematics or Bachelor of Engineering in any stream.

    CDSE (Combined Defence Services Examination) is an exam to get entry into the :-
    1. Indian Military Academy
    2. Indian Naval Academy
    3. Air Force Academy
    4. Officers Training Academy
    This exam is conducted twice in a year by UPSC (Union Public Service Commission).
    After their advt. published in the leading newspapers or employment news you have to 2 options to apply for the CDSE exam viz. :-
    1. Online through website - www.upsconline.nic.in
    2. Offline through purchasing the form by a post office & affix a CRF stamp on it & got cancelled from the post office, fill the particulars in the application form , & affix photo on it & post that envelope before the last date.

    Eligibility & Age limit Criteria for the CDSE Exam are :-

    For Indian Military Academy -
    Unmarried male candidates between 18-23.
    Must have a Degree of a recognized university

    For Indian Naval Academy -
    Unmarried male candidates between 18-23.
    Must have a Degree of a recognized university (with Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level) or Bachelor of Engineering .

    For Air Force Academy -
    Unmarried male candidates between 18-22.
    Must have a Degree of a recognized university (with Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level) or Bachelor of Engineering .

    For Officers' Training Academy -
    Male candidates (married or unmarried) between 18-24.
    Must have a Degree of a recognized university
