    Give the complete details of IAS exam? Kindly Suggest a right way to prepare for this exam?

    I want to become ias officer .am syudying b.tech second year in electronic and communication engineering.suggest me how to prepare and explain me pattern and all about it.

    You need to attend the Civil services exam for becoming an IAS officer. You can attend this exam after completing your engineering graduation. The minimum qualification for attending the IAS exam is a graduation in any discipline. Itís important to obtain the graduation from a recognized university or college. You can prepare for this exam by joining some coaching institutes. You also need to know the various subject areas where in you will be tested for this exam. In the first part i.e. CSAT there will be aptitude oriented questions. If you clear it you need to prepare for any subjects mentioned in the official site. After that there will be the interview and the physical fitness test. You can refer the previous year question papers for preparing for this exam.

    This exam is conducted by UPSC in once time in year.

    Those candidate are graduate from any recognized university with any discipline are eligible for IAS exam.

    But your age should be in between 22 to 30 years old.Age relaxation is provide for SC/ST/OBC category as per govt rule.

    The maximum attempts for SC/ST candidate is Unlimited. For OBC candidate it is 7 years and for general candidate it will be 5 years.

    Also you must be in citizen in India.

    Optional subjects for IAS main exam:

    Economics , Electrical Engineering,Geography, Geology ,History, Law,Management,Mathematics, Mechanical Engineering, Medical Science, Philosophy, Physics, Political Science and International Relations, Psychology, Public Administration, Sociology,Statistics, Zoology, Agriculture, Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Anthropology,Botany, Chemistry, Civil Engineering, Commerce and Accountancy.

    You can choose the subject in sense of your strength .

    The IAS selection process is consist in three way

    1)Preliminary exam
    2)Main exam
    3)Inter View.

    IAS is one of the prestigious job to do and it has such a great value that every one want to prepare for IAS, among all of them some of them can reach the goal who will have the strong determinations , who can do hard work, planning etc..
    as we know that there is change in the syllabus introduced by the CSAT 2011,
    the IAS exam will be consists of
    • prelims,
    • mains,
    • and finally interview stage ,
    you have to clear the IAS prelims to claim the mains and than interview session,
    education eligibility,
    you can have graduate in any discipline from a university recognized by the university grants commission (UGC).
    if you are in the final year of your graduation than you can fill the main exam form.
    and you must be the citizen of india.
    age limit
    you must be minimum 21 years of age maximum is 30 years ,
    if you are belong to OBC category than you can have 21 to 33 years of age.
    for sc/st 21 to 35 years .
    you can attempt 4 times if you are belong to general category and 7 attempts for OBC and sc/st there is no limit for the exam,
    the notifications for the civil services prelims will be appear in employment news and on UPSC's website on 04-02-2012.
    the exam is going to be held on 20-05-2012.
    the IAS prelims consists of objective and consists of two compulsory papers to all of them .
    the negative marks for each question is 0.33 marks,
    each paper consists of 200 marks,
    the duration of the time is 2 hours,

    history of india and national movement,
    Indian and world geography-physical ,social,economic geography of india

    Indian polity and governance constitution , political system , panchayati raj ,public policy, rights issues ,etc..

    question relating to English language comprehension skills of class 10 level which will be tested through the passages from English language only without providing Hindi translation there of in the question paper.

    IAS(Indian Administrative Services):
    IAS is the All India Civil Service Examination conducted every year for the selection of Intelligent Brains of India into different civil services.Civil Services are conducted every year and the examination is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission in India.UPSC is the organizing body for all the civil services.These civil services examinations are conducted every year following the eligibility criteria and also the examination syllabus based on the selection procedure.......

    Eligibility criteria:
    *You must be the citizen of India......

    prepare for the examination by solving the previous years question papers and also set the time for preparation in such a way that you need to cover whole syllabus for the preparation.....

    IAS :Indian Administrative service.UPSC will hold the IAS examination every year.

    The IAS Examination should consist of following fields namely...
    • Preliminary examination
    • Main examination.
    Preliminary examination should consist of 2 papers and both of them is objective type question.After clearing the preliminary examination you can go for main examination.

    Main examination should consist of descriptive pattern.Here you have to choose the optional subjects..

    Eligibility for IAS:

    • you should be citizen from India.
    • Your age should in between 21-30 years.The upper age limit will be applicable for ST/SC/OBC candidates.
    • You have to complete the graduation from any recognized university.
    • You must physically fit as per rules...

    How to prepare:

    First you have to prepare the number of preferred books and know about the topics.
    Next you have to refer the previous papers.In that observe which type of questions they ask and prepare well.
    For general awareness you have to study the daily news papers etc.
    You need to make the online tests.

    IAS : Indian Administrative Services is the most prestigious post.

    For IAS post UPSC every year conducts civil services examination.

    To write Civil Services Examination the candidates must be a graduate from a recognized university.

    Or final year candidates of graduation degree coursr can also apply .

    Age : the candidates must have attained the age of 21 years to maximum 30 years.

    Age relaxation is applicable to reserved category candidates.
    For OBC 3 years
    Sc/St 5 years
    PH/VH /Ex.men services 10year of age relaxation is provided.

    No. Of attempts allowed :
    Gen 4 times
    OBC 7 times and Sc/St no limit.

    Civil Services Examination is conducted in two steps :
    1) CSAT exam
    2)Mains exam.
    And the candidates who qualified in both the exams are called for Interview.

    Civil Services Examination Notifications were published on official website of UPSC or Employment News paper.
