NET stands for National Eligibility Test which is conducted by UGC.This exam will be happen twice time in a year.

Those candidate have completed masters degree from recognized university are eligible for NET exam.But your Masters degree marks must be above 55% and for SC/ST candidate it must be above 50%.

There is no age criteria for NET exam but your minimum age should be 19 years old.For the case of JRF , your age should be maximum 28 years old.For lectureship , there is no age criteria.

UGC NET Examination is conducted twice in a year and this examination is only for those who wants to make his career in Education field. If your aim is to do P.HD in future then you have to cracked NET to get seat in top UGC Colleges. With the help of this certificate you will become lecturer in some top private and government colleges.

To apply for this examination you have to complete your post graduate degree course and must have scored more than 55% marks. 5% relaxation is applicable for Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Tribe candidates.

Age should not be more than 28 years for Junior Research fellowship post and there is no age restriction for lectureship post.

You can appear for this examination in June and December every year. There is no restrictions in number of attempts in NET. If you are fulfill the above mentioned eligibility then definitely you are eligible to apply for NET.

This examination is objective one and there are total 3 papers in this examination and you have to appear for all 3. All papers will be conducted in same day in 2 session. First paper is same for all, but rest two paper is based on the subject you choose on the basis of your post graduation. You have to passed individually in each one the section. But you have to scored more than 70+ marks in paper I because the merit for paper-I will go high, so you need preparation accordingly.
