    Giani Zail Singh College of Engineering and Technology, Bathinda is the oldest institution in Punjab, which is fully promoted by the Government of Punjab. It is an AICTE approved institution having undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Engineering. It is affiliated to Punjab Technical University.

    This institution was established in the year 1989 with the distinction of first institution in Punjab having full sponsorship from the state government. It was started as Government Engineering College. In 1992, it was converted to an autonomous institute.

    Candidates who seek first year admission to the undergraduate engineering courses offered at this institute should qualify the Combined Entrance Test (CET) conducted by Punjab Technical University. Diploma holders can apply for the direct second year admission through lateral entry scheme. For that, they should qualify the Punjab Technical University Lateral Entry Entrance Test (LEET). Admission to postgraduate course is based on the score obtained in Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE).
