    hello,
    as a general category student, how many times i can appear for ias ???

    IAS(Indian Administrative Services):
    The IAS is the Indian Administrative services which are one of the civil services in India and these are of the prestigious services which are offered by the UPSC board and these civil services had number of limited attempts to be made and the candidates can appear for the examination or the civil services maximum to the prescribed limit and can not appear more then that limit exceeding the number of attempts are fixed according to the criteria of the candidates they belong to and some of the following criteria of the IAS/IPS selections are........
    General Candidates-4 times
    OBC-7 times
    SC/ST- no limit
    These are number of the attempts to be made and these are fixed number of attempts to be made and the candidate can appear for the civil services according to these limits.......
    These are the fixed number of attempts to be made and the candidates can appear for the examination according to these limits only.........

    There are also other qualifications which must be followed in order to appear for the Civil services examination and this civil services selection are done according to these qualifications and the candidates who wish to appear for the civil services must follow these qualifications.......
    some of the qualifications required are.........
    *Age Limit-
    Should have attained the age of 21 years and should not exceed the age of 30 years
    *Educational Qualifications-
    should have completed the graduation or the bachelor degree course of study in any of the discipline of study and the candidates who wish to appear for these civil services should complete the under graduation with at least of the pass marks and should receive the certificates issued by the government of India
    *Nationality-
    Only the candidates who belong to the citizen of India are only eligible for appearing to the civil services..........
    These are the minimum qualifications which you must have to appear for the civil services examination............

    These civil services are conducted once per year and the selections are done one year long selections and the candidates who wish to appear for the IAS examination should follow these qualifications and you can appear for these civil services.........

    hello friend,

    For General Category, number of attempts permitted is 4.
    also there is a age limit i.e a general category candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 30 years.

    IAS examination is conducted by UPSC every.this is the most difficult and toughest examination.

    The minimum qualification required for IAS examination are:
    candidates must have graduation Degree in any stream of a recognized university.

    Age limit:
    The minimum age required for IAS is 21 years and maximum 30 years.

    Age relaxation is given to reserved category.

    For obc 3 year of age relaxation is provided.

    For sc/st 5 years of age relaxation is provided.

    No. Of attempts:

    For General category:
    4 times

    For OBC category:
    7 times

    For sc/st category:
    no limit.

    Union Public Service Commission conducts Civil services examination for Various Indian Government services.

    IAS indian administrative examination is one of the most prestigious as well as toughest examinations in the country. With lakhs of aspirants for only a few positions IAS is sure a competitive exam.

    As a general candidate ,you have 3 attempts to write IAS.

    While backward category enjoy 5 attempts while SC/ST can write 9 times.

    IAS is the most intelligent exams to crack and successfully join this stellar Central Govt. service. The Indian Administrative Service (IAS) is the administrative civil service of the executive branch of the Government of the Republic of India.

    ELIGIBILITY:

    >> Should be aged between 21 and 30

    >>You should be a graduate in any discipline.

    IAS Exam has three stages Preliminary Exam, Main Exam, and an Interview

    IAS Preliminary Exam Pattern:

    The prelims are held around May-June.

    It has multiple choice questions.

    There are two papers (duration of each being 2 hrs).
    a) General studies and
    b)Optional subject: you can choose from Psychology, Sociology, Philosophy, Agriculture, Maths, Phy, Chem, Stats etc.


    It is not compulsory to choose the same subjects of your graduation.

    The results are declared in July-August and the successful candidates are called for the main examinations.

    The prelims score has no bearing for determining the final merit list for the services.

    Mains Exam Pattern:-

    The main written examination usually takes place in Oct-Nov, it comprises of 9 papers in all Duration of each paper is 3 hrs.

    Language: one of the Indian languages, English, Essay GK and Current Affairs: 2 papers on general studies

    Optionals: papers from two subjects that fall in optional-1 and two papers from optional-2


    Interview :-

    The interview calls are sent in March-April of the following year and they take place in the month of April-May.

    This exam is conducted by UPSC in once time in year.

    Those candidate are graduate from any recognized university with any discipline are eligible for IAS exam.

    But your age should be in between 21 to 30 years old.Age relaxation is provide for SC/ST/OBC category as per govt rule.

    No.Of Attempts:

    General Candidates - 4 Attempts

    OBC Candidates - 7 Attempts

    SC/ST Candidates - No Limits.

    It requires minimum Bachelor degree from recognized university..

    your age should be 21 to 30 years....

    you should be citizen of india..

    IAS ( Indian Administrative Services )

    This is one the civil services if Indian.

    Union Public service commission conducts the examination of IAS every onces for recruitment of candidates this service.

    Educational qualification :

    candidates must have Bachelor degree of a recognized .

    There is no percentage restriction regarding this examination .

    Number of attempts allowed :

    for general 4 times
    for obc 7 times
    and for sc/st no limit.

    Age limit :
    minimum 21 years to 30 years.

    Age relaxation is provided to reserved category candidates:

    for obc 3 years and for sc /st 5 years.

    IAS exams are the toughest exam in India.

    UPSC conducts IAS exam in three stages -

    1. Preliminary exam

    2. Main exam

    3. Interview

    Eligibility criteria for IAS exam -

    Candidate should be a graduate from a recognised university.

    The candidate's age should be between 21 years to 30 years, for general category.

    For OBC category, theupper age limit is upto 33 years.

    For SC / ST category, the upper age limit is 35 years.

    Number of attempts-

    General category - 4 attempts

    OBC category - 7 attempts

    SC/ ST category - Unlimited attempts.

    First of all i thank to you for this question.
    I hope you ambition is IAS officer.
    As you mentioned you are a general category so,you have few chance than OBC and SC.

    But i hope on the basis of hard work you can crack it first chance.

    IAS examination is conducted by UPSC.

    UPSC stands for Union Public Service Commission.

    UPSC conducts many civil service examinations such as IAS, IPS, PCS etc.

    The age requirement for IAS exam is:-

    --> 21-30 years for General category

    --> 21-33 years for OBC category

    --> 21-35 years for SC/ST category


    The number of attempts for the IAS examinations are:-

    --> 4 for General category

    --> 7 for OBC category

    --> Unlimited for SC/ST category


    For becoming an IAS officer one has to work really hard.
