You have not given any details about your educational qualifications. The mode of entry in to Indian Air Force will differ as per your qualification level. The basic criterion to join Indian Air Force is that candidates need to study science as their major subjects. Only those who have learned Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as subjects can join Indian Air force. You need to attend UPSC NDA exam so as to get in to Indian Air force. Maximum age limit to attend this exam is 19 years. Graduates can opt for technical positions in Air force through CDS exam. Maximum age limit to attend this exam is 24 years. Male candidates who are unmarried can only join Indian Air force.

There are two ways by which you can get into Indian airforce:

    Through NDA
    Through AFCAT

    For admission in NDA

You can get admission through N.D.A and can get admission in Indian Airforce . For this you need to be eligible to give the NDA exam.here is the Eligibility criteria for Airforce

    NDA informations

    DATE of notification of NDA-5/5/2012

last DATE of receipt of complete application form-4/6/2012

    date of exam (NDA-2)-19/8/20121

    ================================================
    ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
you should have age b/w 16.5 to 19 years
in case you are a non medical candidate you can apply for all three wings.
if you are not a non medical student then you can only apply for ARMY WING
you should have passed your XII class
class XII candidates can also appear for the same
    unmarried males can apply
    Girls cannot apply for NDA
since you have not passed XII class hence cannot apply for NDA for higher posts.

    ==================================================

    For admissions into AFCAT-

This exam is conducted for admission in the three branches namely
    flying branch
    technical branch
    ground duty branch

but for this minimum requirement is graduation, hence you can only apply for this after graduation!!!

Now, it would be better for you to apply for NDA by giving the entrance exam after XII class

Re: Which exam should I clear to join Indian Air force?

    You have two options
    1. Through NDA (after Inter)
    2. Through CDSE (after graduation)

CDSE - Combined Defense Service Exam

UPSC Conducts CDSE every year for recruiting the candidates through following wings
    1.Indian Militar Academy(IMA)
    2.Indian Navy
    3.Air Force Academy(AFA)
    4.Officers Training Academy(OTA)

The CDSE is held 2times in every year
    - CDS I
    - CDS II

    >> Indian Military Academy (IMA), Dehradun
    >> Naval Academy, Goa
    >> Air Force Academy, Begumpet, Hyderabad
    >> Officers Training Academy (OTA), Chennai

    Age eligibility:

    # For IMA - You should be Unmarried male and your age should be between 19-24 years.

    # For Naval Academy - You should be Unmarried male and your age should be between 19-22 years.

    # For Air Force Academy - You should be Unmarried male and your age should be between 19-23 years.

    # For Officers Training Academy - Male/ Female candidates (married or unmarried) between 19-25 years.

The UPSC conducts this CDSE twice a year in February and August/September to admit cadets to the Indian Military Academy (IMA), Dehradun, and the Officers Training Academy (OTA), Chennai.

    Educational Eligibility for CDS:

    - For IMA and OTA, you must have any degree from any recognized University.

    - For Navy, you should have B.Sc in Physics or Mathematics or Bachelor of Engineering(BE).

    - For AFA, you should have the degree from a recognized University with Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level or Bachelor of Engineering(BE)

    NDA(National Defense Academy)

    There are 3wings in NDA:
    1.Indian Army
    2.Indian Airforce
    3.Indian Navy

If you are interested to go for Indian Army then YOU CAN HAVE YOUR INTER FROM ANY STREAM.
BUT, you must have your inter with Physics,Maths,Chemistry Background when you want to go for Airforce or NAVY Wings

    Eligibility:

You must be an Indian. Your age must be between 16.5 to 19years. You should be Unmarried male.
    You must be PHYSICALLY FIT.
