    Which exam should be cleared to become a drug inspector after completion of M.Pharm course in Baroda? What is the respective syllabus? How can we prepare for this exam?

    Myself Dhara Shah ,I m doing my M.pharm (final sem) in Baroda. i want to give DI drug inspector exam. Which is the exam for this and what is its syllabus ? How we can prepare for this exam ?

    Hello friend !!

    Drug Inspector :

    For becoming a Drug Inspector, you need to appear for the Drug Inspector Examination conducted by your respective State every year.

    Once you are eligible in the examination, then you are allotted an admission in the respective college as per your merit in the examination.

    No. of Posts :

    Total 430 posts (Gen-212, SC-89, ST- 14, OBC-115),

    Educational Qualification :

    A candidate must have hold a degree in Pharmacy of Pharmaceutical Sciences or Medicine with specialisation in Clinical Pharmacology or Microbiology from a University established in India by law.

    No person who has any financial interest in the import/manufacture of sale or drugs and cosmetics shall be appointed as an Inspector, under the Drugs & Cosmetics Act, 1945.

    Age Limits :-

    You must be under 32 years and above 21 years of age i.e he/she must not have been born earlier than 1st February, 1976 and not later than 31st January, 1987.

    The upper age-limit is relaxable by

    3 (three) years for candidates belonging to Socially & Educationally Backward Classes,
    5 (five) years for candidates belonging to the categories of Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Women and eligible Ex-Servicemen candidates.

    Selection Procedure :

    The selection of candidates for recruitment to the post shall be made on the basis of written test/examination and Viva Voce Test.

    The written examination will consist of two papers.
    The examination in Pharmacy will be covered in Paper-I consisting of 200 marks.
    The examination in General Knowledge will cover in Paper-II consisting of 50 marks.

    The Commission shall conduct the Viva Voce Test for 25 marks.

    The Commission will short-list the candidates to be called for viva voce test to a reasonable number taking into consideration the marks secured in the written examination above the cut-off point to be fixed by the Commission.

    The plan of examination and board outlines of the syllabus for the said examination are enclosed (Appendix-I).

    Syllabus for the Drug Inspector Exam :

    1. General Science – Contemporary developments in Science and Technology and their implications including matters of every day observation and experience, as may be expected of a well-educated person who has not made a special study of any scientific discipline.
    2. Current events of national and international importance.
    3. History of India – emphasis will be on broad general understanding of the subject in its social, economic, cultural and political aspects with a focus on AP Indian National Movement.
    4. World Geography and Geography of India with a focus on AP.
    5. Indian polity and Economy – including the country’s political system- rural development – Planning and economic reforms in India.
    6. Mental ability – reasoning and inferences.

    Pay Scale: The prescribed salary for the specified post is Rs.9300 - 34800 + Grade Pay of Rs.4200.

    To become Drug Inspector you should be B phrma. from a PCI recognized college.

    Exam for drug inspector are conducted every year.

    For appearing the exams go through details of UPSC exam.

    Visit the official site of UPSC: www.upsc.gov.in and i am sure that will help you a lot.

    Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) conducts various Recruitment Exams every year.

    The application form can be downloaded from the official website of MPSC and can buy from designated Post Offices.

    APPSC Drugs Inspector Entrance Examination is conducted by Andhra Pradesh Public Service commission.

    The application form can be obtained from the APPSC official website and designated Post Offices
