Aeronautical, Aerospace, Avionics etc are available as undergraduate courses in some IITs as well as IIST. AMAeSI is considered equivalent to B Tech. Alternately after B Tech in Mechanical Engg you can opt for PG in Aeronautical Engg

    hi friend
you have to join Aerospace Engineering stream to become an Aerinautical engineer.

eligiblity criteria for aeronautical engineering :-

    * you must have PCM(physic chemistry maths) combination in 12th
    * you have to appear for engineering entrance exams like IIT JEE, AIEEE etc and crack one of them to be eligible for the course/admission
    * admission will done to the respective colleges strictly on the basis of the merit list.....so you need to put real hard labour to get a good rank

you can choose following colleges for Aerospace Engineering :-

    * Indian Institute of Aeronautics
    * IIT--Indian Institute of Technology Mumbai
    * Indian Institute of Aeronautical Engineering
    * Nehru College of Aeronautics & Applied Science
    * Park College of Engineering and Technology
    * Rajasthan Vidhyapeeth (Deemed)University
    * VSM Aerospace, Chelekere

Re: Which engineering stream should I take to become an Aeronautical engineer?

    hai,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
dear aeronautical engineering is a specialized engineering stream that deals with the designing ,
    • manufacturing,
    • testing,
    • and maintenance of aircraft in commercial aviation and defence sectors ,
unlike aerospace engineering ,a course in aeronautical engineering will make you to study of advanced level physics,
    mathematics,
    with emphasis on thermodynamics ,
    propulsion systems,
    fluid mechanics,
    applied mathematics,
    and aero dynamics.
you have to be strong in physics, chemistry and mathematics afetr your 10th to get eligible for the aeronautical engineering.
in aeronautical engineering the courses offered are
    under graduate courses are
    • B.TECH in aeronautical engineering,
    • B.E in aeronautical engineering,
    post graduate courses are
    • M.TECH in aeronautical engineering,
    • M.TECH in avionics,
    • M.E in aeronautical engineering,
    • M.E in avionics,
    eligibility for undergraduate level.
you must have same eligibility like B.TECH ,you must have 10+2 (physics, chemistry, maths) with 50% of marks to get eligible.
and also english is compulsory for you at 10+2 level.
    age limit
    • you must have 17-21 years of age.
    eligibility for post graduate level.
if you want to get admission in the post graduate level than you must have degree in aeronautical or aerospace engineering .
and also you must have 50% of marks in the qualifying examination.
    eligibility for the doctoral level
to eligible for this course you must have post graduation in aeronautical or aerospace engineering .
and you must also have valid GATE course.
various entrance exams for undergraduate level
    • AIEEE,
    • IIT,
    • EAMCET and various state level exams.
some of the good institutes are
    • institute of aeronautical engineering-Hyderabad,
    • manipal institute of technology,manipal university-manipal,
    • Hindustan institute of technology and science, Hindustan university-Chennai,
    • MVJ college of engineering-banglore,
    • PEC university of technology-CHANDIGARH,
    • madras institute of technology , Anna university-Chennai,
    • inidan institute of aeronautical engineering and information technology-pune,
    • inidan academy of aeronautical engineering-Lucknow,
    • institute of aeronautical and marine engineering-banglore.

Re: Which engineering stream should I take to become an Aeronautical engineer?

    Hello,
There is aeronautics engineering itself which can help you in this regard. I would also suggest to go for MBA in Aviation after you complete your B.Tech or B.E. in aeronautics engineering. The process of recruitment is normal and through IIT JEE(Joint Entrance Examination) or AIEEE(All India Engineering Entrance Examination). So once you clear this level with great ranks you can go for aeronautics engineering in good institutes like IITs or Nehru college of aeronautics. After you pursue the B.E. degree, make sure that you have 50% or more marks in your entire graduation so that you can apply for MBA in Aviation Management. You can do that in one of the well known IIMs. But for that you must clear the CAT examination with 99 percentile or more. After you clear the examination, you will have to go through the GD and PI rounds of the respective institute. If you clear that too then you will be admitted in the MBA program. So now you will have both technical degree and management degree in aeronautics.

Generally AEROSPACE ENGINEERING deals with the

    @ Design

    @ Construction of Aircrafts ...

To become Aeronautical engineer you must have Passes B.E / B.Tech in Aeronautical engineering

For that you must write the entrance exams like

    AIEEE

    AMIE

    JOINT ENTRANCE EXAMINATION

    SLIET ENTRANCE TEST

    STATE WISE ENTRANCE EXAMINATIONS ...

Later which you can apply for the jobs like ..

    I.S.R.O

In order to become an Aeronautical Engineer you will require the following :-

    >>You must be passed out in 10+2 exam from recognized university/board.
    >>You must have Science stream in 10+2.
    >>Your compulsory subjects in 10+2 should be Mathematics and Physics.
    >>Optional paper should be Chemistry/Computer science.
    >>Your minimum marks in 10+2 should be 70%.

After fulfilling the above details you will have to appear for the JEE(Joint Engineering Entrance Exam) exam.
After getting pass in this exam you will allowed to appear for the IIT-JJE exam as per the latest Rule .

    Dear Friend,

To become a Aeronautical engineering you will have to do aeronautical engineering.

it requires minimum 12th std in science stream.

After that it requires entrance exam like AIEEE, ISNEET.

The admission of Aeronautical engineering will based on entrance exam result.

it is 4 year full time engineering.

After doing this you will become a aeronautical engineer and you can do the all aeroplane work.

Re: Which engineering stream should I take to become an Aeronautical engineer?

    Hello friend,

After passing 12th,you can go for Engineering but in Engineering also, you need to select a particular stream as per your choice.

There are many Colleges in India for Engineering and they offer various streams in Engineering like :-
    1.Aeronautical Engineering.
    2.Mechanical Engineering.
    3.Civil Engineering.
    4.Production Engineering.
    5.Computer Science Engineering.
    6.Automobile Engineering.
    7.Textile Engineering.
    8.Electrical Engineering.
    9.Electrical and Electronic Engineering.
    10.Bio Medical Engineering.
    11.Marine Engineering.
    12.Chemical Engineering.
    13.Agricultural Engineering.

The scopes of all the branches are different but you should opt for that stream in which you are interested and think that you can do better.
If you are interested in Aeronautical ,then you can opt for Aeronautical Engineering o
There are not so many colleges offering Aeronautical Engineering as compared to other streams but the scope of this stream is very good especially in abroad.
For this stream,IIT Mumbai is best in which admission is based on the rank obtained in IIT-JEE.IIT-JEE is conducted every year once in the month of April. So,if you want to get admission there, you need to score very good rank in this entrance test.

There are some other good colleges for this also in which admission is based on the rank in IIT-JEE or AIEEE or the entrance test conducted by the College itself.
So,you should first try to secure good rank in the entrance tests and then select the college and stream according to that.
I hope you found the information useful.

    Best of luck.
    Thanks.

    With Regards-
    Vikas
