JELET exam is conducted by West Bengal government is for the lateral entry in undergraduate courses. The candidates who have pursued a pass in diploma course can apply for this exam. The diploma must be done in engineering or pharmacy or technology. The students who have passed the B.Sc with Maths can also apply. The candidate with a minimum of 60% in diploma in related streams or B.Sc from recognized institution is eligible for this exam. Some seats are reserved for the other state domicile candidates in the government colleges. So you can also attend the exam. The admission will be based on the score acquired in JELET. In order to get admissions within the Jadavpur University and Shivpur University in West Bengal, you have to attend the JELET entrance test. Mostly, for attending the State level tests, aspirants should be domicile of the particular State. In the JELET entrance test notification, it is not specified that the applicants should be domiciles of West Bengal. However, please enquire the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board to know whether you can apply for the test or not. Otherwise, visit the official website of the same for clarifying your doubts. The eligibility criterion to apply for the test is a diploma in the concerned areas. Those who have studied graduation in Science can also apply for the test. The percentage requirement is a minimum of 60% in the qualifying exam.

Re: Eligibility criteria to apply for JELET

My friend the West Bengal Joint entrance Exam for the Lateral Entry Test is conducted by west bengal board for the candidates who want to get admission in the 3rd semester i.e 2nd year of a undergraduate course of 4 years duration. The diploma holders in engineering or technology and the pharmacy degree holders are eligible. If u are a bsc. With maths then u are also too eligible. Also maths is a must for this exam except the pharmacy. For being eligible for that u have to secure atleast 60% marks in your degree or diploma. I think there is no age criteria as such till now. Also this percentage is same in both general and sc/st category i think. Also it is a regulation of JELET that u are eligible only if u have passed ur diploma in engg from a institute approved by AICTE or the degree from recognised university. So i think u are eligible for that even if u are an outsider. I think that there is a special quota also. For revelant info like dates, prospectus, etc. U can access the main website:

    www.wbjeeb.com

or u can get the revelant info from the daily employment newspapers. Good luck.
