The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) conducts the Special Railway Apprentices Exam every year to recruit higher secondary qualified candidates (with Science background) to special apprentice engineers in the Mechanical department of the Indian Railways.

This examination is tough to crack but sincere study and determination is enough to crack this examination.

Exam pattern:

This written examination consists of three papers namely Paper I, Paper II and Paper III. Paper I is the General Ability paper and is a very important paper in this exam. After the written examination a personal interview session is held for each qualified candidate.

• Psychological Test
Duration of General Ability (Paper I) in Special Railway Apprentices exam:
The duration of this paper is two hours. The total number of questions is 120 and is objective type. The total marks of this paper are 200.

Scoring pattern:

Full marks are allotted if answers marked are correct. For each incorrect question 1/3rd of the marks allotted to the question are deducted.
