Reserve Bank of India came into existence in the year 1935 on the 1st of April and it is responsible for controlling the monetary policy of Indian Rupees. RBI recruits candidates for Officer Grade B position to work for different departments functioning under its control like Department of Economic Analysis and Policy and Department of Statistics and Information Management. In addition, General Grade B officers are also appointed through Direct Recruitment.

Education qualification requirement to apply for Grade B Officer Position in RBI:

Recruitment of candidates for this position is done on the basis of performance of candidates in written examination. For applying to the position, candidates must be First class degree holders with at least 60% of marks or equivalent grade or second class PG degree holders with at least 55% of marks or equivalent grade or Doctorate holders with at least 50% of marks in PG degree. Also candidates with CS/ICWA and CA qualification with a UG degree and candidates with PG diploma in management from IIMs are eligible to apply to this position.

Pattern of RBI Grade B Officer Examination:

This examination is conducted in two phases and the details of the same are given below:

Phase I: Phase I will have questions under four segments namely quantitative analysis, reasoning, general awareness and English Language. Reasoning ability section is conducted for 75 marks, general awareness and English language sections are conducted for 50 marks each, while 25 marks is allotted for Quantitative analysis.

Phase II: Phase II will have three major sections namely English, economics and social issues, finance and management. Here questions will be of descriptive type and the maximum marks allotted is 100.
