The University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test is held every year. This examination is conducted by UGC for the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), and for being eligible for lectureship in various colleges and universities of India.

Exam pattern:

For each subject there are three papers. The subject of Home Science is hugely popular and is taken by many candidates every year. Paper III of Home Science is an important paper and needs good attention, understanding of the language and extensive study.

Duration of Home Science (Paper III) in NET Exam:

This paper is of 2 and ½ hours of duration. More precisely it is of 150 minutes in duration. The total marks of the paper are 200, the number of questions being 26 and of subjective type. Answers should be written in the same sheet as that of the question paper and needs to be submitted to the invigilator before leaving the examination hall.

Scoring pattern:

Candidates are awarded full marks if answers are correct. However there is no scheme of negative marking in this paper.
