The University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test is held every year. This examination is conducted by UGC for the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), and for being eligible for lectureship in various colleges and universities of India.

Exam pattern:

For each subject there are three papers. The subject of English is taken by many candidates every year. Paper II of English is an important paper and needs good attention, understanding of the subject and extensive study. English is hugely acclaimed worldwide so it has huge popularity in this exam.

Duration of English (Paper II) in NET Exam:

The paper of English is of 1 and ¼ hours of duration. More precisely it is of 75 minutes in duration. The total marks of the paper is 100, the number of questions being 50 and of objective type. Questions are based on the language English and candidate should be thorough with this subject to score the maximum marks.

Scoring pattern:

Candidates are awarded full marks if answers are correct. However there is no scheme of negative marking in this paper. Un-attempted answers don’t score anything.
