As mentioned earlier, engineering courses are being offered by Mumbai University in different branches and for all these branches of engineering, the first year papers are common. First year of the course is further divided into two semesters being first and second semester. Syllabus for Communication Skills paper in the Second Semester of B.E. Course:

The Communication Skill Paper offered in the second semester of the course is also called as Communication Skill – II and it includes the following modules in its syllabus:

• Module 1: Communication Theory
• Module 2: Techniques to Improve Communication
• Module 3: Summarization and comprehension
• Module 4: Vocabulary, Grammar & Aptitude Test
• Module 5: Basic Official Correspondence
• Module 6: Basic Technical Writing

Pattern of Communication Skill paper:

The theoretical examination for communication skills paper will be conducted for 75 marks, while 25 marks will be assigned for team work and another 25 marks will be for oral communication. The examination will have seven questions out of which any five are to be answered with question no.1 being compulsory question. The first question, which is compulsory will cover the whole syllabus
