    Download Maharashtra State Service Main Examination Botany I Exam Previous Years Question Papers

    As the name of the examination implies, Maharashtra State Service Examination is conducted by the government of Maharashtra through its public service commission. In addition to this examination, the Maharashtra Public Service Commission conducts other recruitment examination as well for recruitment of appropriate candidates for different government job positions in the state of Maharashtra.

    Maharashtra State Service Examination:

    Maharashtra State Service Examination is conducted in two stages being preliminary examination, both these examinations are written examinations and the main examination is further divided into two categories namely category A and Category B. Category A includes four compulsory papers, while category B includes 34 optional papers of which candidates are permitted to choose their own subject.

    Syllabus of Botany Paper-I:

    The subject code for Botany paper is 601 and the syllabus for Paper I of Botany is divided into four sections with questions worth 50 marks from each section and they are:

    Section A: Algae, fungi
    Section B: Bryophytes and Pteridophytes, Microbiology & plant pathology
    Section C: Gymnosperms, angiosperms
    Section D: Palaeobotany, Plant utility and exploitation

    The question paper for this subject will be of B. Sc Botany standard. Therefore, candidates with degree in B. Sc Botany can take up this paper as optional paper for their Maharashtra State Service main examination.

    Pattern of botany Paper I:

    Candidates will have to attempt the question paper in English and the nature of the paper is conventional essay type paper. The maximum marks awarded for the paper is 200 and time allowed is three hours.
