    Karnataka Public Service Commission, which is shortened as KPSC as the name implies works under the control of the state government of Karnataka and like any other state public service commissions, it is also responsible for conducting recruitment examinations for different government job positions arising in the state of Karnataka.

    Composition of Karnataka Public Service Commission:

    The Karnataka Public Service Commission is composed of a chairman and nine other members, whose service conditions are governed by the Karnataka Public Service Commission Regulations Act 1957, which was framed under Article 318 of the Indian Constitution. The commission is operating from its headquarters in the city of Bangalore and four regional offices each at Shimoga, Gulbarga, Belgaum and Mysore.

    About Gazatted Probationers Exam conducted by KPSC:

    Gazatted Probationers Examination is one among the different recruitment examinations conducted by the Karnataka Public Service Commission and this examination is conducted in accordance with the provisions of the Karnataka Recruitment of Gazatted Probationers Rules 1997. The exam comprises of two stages being preliminary examination and main examination.

    Public Administration (Paper 1 and 2) in Main examination:

    Among the different optional subjects available in the main examination of Gazatted Probationers Examination, Public Administration is a subject with code number 20. The maximum marks allotted for this exam is 300 and the duration allowed is three hours. The question paper for Paper 1 and 2 exams will be divided into four parts with 20 marks for Part A, 100 for Part B, 90 for Part C and 90 marks for Part D thereby making a total of 300 marks.
