    Karnataka Public Service Commission is the Staff Selection Commission of the state of Karnataka functioning under the control of Government of Karnataka, which is responsible for conducted various recruitment examination for selecting candidates to government jobs in the state.

    Services offered by Karnataka Public Service Commission:

    The services offered by the commission are governed according to Article 320 (1) of the constitution and the commission offers the service of recruitment of candidates to government jobs in the state on behalf of the Karnataka government. Government of Karnataka also consults the commission on matters explained in Clause 3 (B) to (E) of the constitution.

    About Gazatted Probationers Exam conducted by KPSC:

    When recruiting candidates for the position of Gazatted probationers the Karnataka Public Service Commission follows the rules of the Karnataka Recruitment of Gazatted Probationers (Appointment by Competitive Examination) rules 1997. According to this rule, the examination is conducted as preliminary examination, main examination followed by interview.

    Political Science & International Relations (Paper 1 and 2) in Main examination:

    Among the different optional subjects available in the main examination of Gazatted Probationers Examination, Political Science & International Relations is a subject with code number 18. Both paper 1 and 2 of the exam will have four parts with 20 marks for part A, 100 marks for Part B, 90 marks each for Part C and D.

    Candidates taking up Political Science & International Relations as their optional paper for Gazatted Probationers Main Examination can practice with the help of the past question papers of Paper 1 and 2 given in the attachment.
