    Karnataka Public Service Commission belongs to the state of Karnataka and it is taking care of the task of recruitment of suitable candidates for government job positions in the state of Karnataka under the control of the state government of Karnataka.

    About Gazatted Probationers Exam conducted by KPSC:

    Among the different recruitment examinations conducted by the Karnataka Public Service Commission, the Gazatted probationers Examination is conducted in two stages being preliminary examination and main examination. The main examination has many optional papers and each of the optional subject will have two question papers being Paper I and Paper II.

    Philosophy (Paper 1 and 2) in Main examination:

    Philosophy is one among the different options subjects in the main examination and the code number of this paper is 15. Both Paper I and II will have questions under four parts of which Part A carries 20 marks, part B carries 100 marks, Part C and D carries 90 marks. Syllabus for both paper 1 and 2 is given below:

    Paper 1: Metaphysics and Epistemology

    o Western
    o Indian

    Paper 2: Socio-Political Philosophy and philosophy of region

    o Nature of Philosophy
    o Special reference to Indian context inclusive of Indian Constitution
    o Traditional change and modernity with reference to Indian social institutions
    o Philosophy of religious language and meaning
    o Nature and scope of philosophy of region
    o Moksha paths leading to moksha

    Previous Years Question Papers:

    Candidates taking up philosophy as their optional paper for Gazatted Probationers Main Examination can practice with the help of the past question papers of Paper 1 and 2 given in the attachment.
