    Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC) conducts various Exams every year. The Public Service Commission was constituted under the provisions of the Constitution of India on 18-05-1951. The Karnataka Public Service Commission is one of the Public Service Commission of India and looks after the recruitment of personnel in the state.

    Pattern of exam:

    The recruitment of Probationary Officers in the state of Karnataka is done through Karnataka Public Service Commission. For this recruitment first of all the Preliminary examination should be passed. After qualifying this examination the main examination is to be taken. The paper of Hindi is an optional paper and in this examination and can be taken by a candidate as one of the optional paper. The paper of Hindi are two namely Paper 1 and Paper 2.

    This exam has mainly 2 papers. Each paper has 4 parts.

    Part A Consist 20 marks. Each question carries 5 marks. (4*5 = 20 marks)
    Part B Consist 100 marks. Each question carries 10 marks. (10*10 = 100 marks)
    Part B Consist 90 marks. Each question carries 15 marks. (6*15 = 90 marks)
    Part B Consist 90 marks. Each question carries 30 marks. (3*30 = 90 marks)

    Candidates should attempt all questions from Part A, B and C. In Part D, attempt any three out of five questions.

    Duration of Hindi paper in KPSC Main Exam:

    Both the papers namely Paper I and Paper II are of three hours in duration. Both require descriptive questions to be answered of 300 marks.

    Scoring Pattern:

    Good marks are awarded to well researched and good informative answers. Illogical concepts should not be applied while answering. No negative marking scheme is available for these papers.
