    Institute of Patent & Trademark Attorney, shortly called as IPA is the first professionals training centre in the nation to offer specialized training and knowledge in intellectual property law.

    Courses offered by the institute:

    IPAI offers professional training in intellectual property rights for enabling candidates to appear for Patent Agent Examination conducted by the Government of India’s Ministry of Commerce and Industry through patent offices. The institute offers Trade Mark Agent Training course for enabling the candidates to obtain qualification required for practicing as a Patent Attorney/Patent Agent under the Patent Act and Rules.

    Eligibility condition and duration of course:

    Duration of the Trade Mark Agent Training course is six months and for applying to this course, candidates must have completed their UG degree in any stream of education from a recognized university.

    Qualifying examination for trade mark agent training course:

    For taking up the course, degree holders will have to take up the qualifying examination conducted by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry through Trade Mark offices at Chennai, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Mumbai and Delhi. The qualifying examination will have two stages with first stage being written test for 100 marks and the second stage being interview for 100 marks thereby making a total of 200 marks. Qualifying marks for written test and interview shall be 40% and 60% respectively and candidates to qualify must score an aggregate of 50% of marks in both these examinations as well.
