Indian Institute of Space Science & Technology is shortly called as IIST and it is operating from the city of Thiruvananthapur in the Indian State of Kerala. It is the country’s National Institute for the study and development of space science. It is sponsored by the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) and its Chancellor is Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam.

Courses offered:

Indian Institute of Space Science & Technology offers UG and PG courses in Technology (B. Tech & M. Tech) in Space Science & Technology and it also acts as research centre thereby conferring doctoral and post doctoral degrees as well. The institute offers Bachelor of Technology in three subjects namely:

• Physical Sciences
• Avionics
• Aerospace Engineering

B. Tech Admissions:

Admission of students to the B. Tech courses offered by the institute is done on the basis of merit secured by candidates in the entrance test called as ISAT conducted by the institute on its own.

Scheme of ISAT Exam:

The question paper for this exam will have objective type questions from mathematics, chemistry and physics subjects. Candidates will have to choose the correct action and will have to record the same in their response by darkening of appropriate bubble with the help of HB pencils alone. Each correct answer will be awarded three marks, while there will be deduction of one mark for each wrong answer.
