    Download Indian Forest Service Civil Engineering Exam Previous Years Question Papers

    The Indian Forest Service Examination is held every year all over India. This exam is conducted by the UPSC to recruit individuals in the Indian Forest Service.

    Exam Pattern:

    Six papers constitute the IFS examination. Civil Engineering is an optional paper having two papers. This subject is chosen by candidates of Civil Engineering educational background.

    Syllabus for Civil Engineering of Indian Forest Service Exam:

    Paper I of Civil Engineering focuses on the following concepts:-
    Engineering Mechanics, Strength of Materials and Structural Analysis
    Design of Structures: Steel, Concrete and Masonry Structures
    Fluid Mechanics, Open Channel and Hydraulic Machines
    Geotechnical Engineering

    Paper II has questions from the following topics:-

    Construction Technology, Equipment, Planning and Management
    Surveying and Transportation Engineering
    Hydrology, Water Resources and Engineering
    Environmental Engineering

    Duration of Civil Engineering paper in Indian Forest Service Exam:

    Both Paper I and Paper II are of two hours duration, the total marks of each of the paper being 300. Questions need to be answered in a descriptive fashion by each candidate.

    Scoring pattern:

    Marking is done based on the quality and information contained in the answers. Unnecessary stuffing of irrelevant lines creates a negative impression on the examiners though there is no scope of negative marking.
