Indian Forest Service is a prestigious service. Many candidates every year appear in the Indian Forest Service Examination with a hope of making it to the Indian Forest Service. This exam is conducted by the UPSC.

Exam pattern:

Six papers constitute the IFS examination. Agricultural Engineering is an optional paper which is chosen by many candidates appearing in this exam. Agricultural Engineering has two papers namely Agricultural Engineering Paper I and Agricultural Engineering II.

Syllabus of Agricultural Engineering paper in Indian Forest Service Examination:

Paper I of Agricultural Engineering has the following chapters in the syllabus:-

• Soil and Water Conservation
• Aerial Photography and Remote Sensing
• Irrigation and Drainage
• Agricultural Structures

Paper II encompasses the following concepts:-

• Farm Power and Machinery
• Agro-energy
• Agricultural Process Engineering
• Instrumentation and computer applications in Agricultural Engineering

Duration of Agricultural Engineering paper in Indian Forest Service Exam:

The allotted duration is three hours for each of the paper. The total marks being 200 for each paper. Answers must be descriptive with necessary discussion.

Scoring pattern:

Candidates are marked on the basis of how good their answers are. Answers with satisfactory answers are given special credit. There is no scheme of negative marking in these two papers.
