    Download Indian Economic Service General Economics-I Exam Previous Years Question Papers

    Indian Economic Service is shortly called as IES and IES examination is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission for appointment of Grade IV officers to the Indian Economic Services.

    Examination Schedule:

    Indian Economics Service Examination is generally conducted during the Month of November each year and the notification for the same calling for candidates to apply for the examination is issued by the UPSC during the month of June. Candidates should not be less than 21 years of age and not more than 30 years of age to apply for this examination as on the 1st of January in the year in which he/she applies.

    Eligibility to apply for IES Examination:

    To be eligible to apply for IES examination, candidates must have completed their PG degree from a recognized university in econometrics/business economics/applied economics or economics.

    Syllabus for General Economics-I paper:

    The Indian Economic Service Examination is conducted for 1000 marks in total with six papers. The Paper of General Economics Ė I is conducted for 200 marks and the paper will have questions from the following subjects in Part-A and Part-B:

    Part A:

    1. Theory of Consumerís Demand
    2. Theory of Production
    3. Theory of Value
    4. Theory of Distribution
    5. Welfare Economics

    Part B:

    1. Mathematical methods in economics
    2. Statistical and econometric methods
