The Institute of Cost Accountants of India shortly called as ICAI is offering the ICWAI course and according the current syllabus, which was introduced in the year 2008, it is divided into foundation, intermediate Group I, intermediate Group II, Final Group III and Final Group IV stages. Previously, these were called as foundation, intermediate stage I, intermediate stage II, final stage III and final stage IV.

Papers in Final Stage IV:

According to the old syllabus, which was introduced in the year 2003, papers in the final stage IV of the course are:

• Cost Audit and Management Audit
• Management Accounting Decision Making
• Management Accounting Financial Strategy and Reporting
• Valuations management and cast study

Syllabus for Cost Audit and Management Audit:

Syllabus for this paper is divided under two sections namely Cost Audit and Management audit leading to other services. For each of these sections 50 marks is allotted and some of the chapters covered under these sections are given below:

• Section I: Cost Audit

o The cost Audit Report
o Audit notes and working papers
o Evaluation of internal control systems
o Verification of records and reports
o Planning the audit
o Appointment of cost Auditor
o Nature, objects and scope of cost audit

• Section II: Management Audit leading to other services

o Management audit
o Other services

Previous Years Question papers:

Even though, cost audit and management audit paper is not offered in the current syllabus, students can make use of the past question papers of this paper given in the attachment for practicing to the Cost Audit & Operational audit paper offered in the Final Group IV according to the current syllabus followed by ICAI.
