    Download GATE Physics Exam Previous Years Question Papers

    Abbreviated as Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering, GATE is held for admission of students to various engineering courses offered in Indian Institute of Science and seven Indian Institute of Technologies in India.

    Exam Pattern:

    In GATE examination, candidates can choose a paper among different subject-options available for taking up this examination. Among these physics is one of the papers, whose code is PH.

    Physics Pattern:

    GATE physics examination is conducted for three-hour duration with 60 questions carrying a maximum of 100 marks. The question paper includes only objective type questions with four choices for each question among which one option is the correct. Before 2009, the question paper had 85 questions in total, but now the pattern is that there are 60 questions.

    Scoring & Negative Marking:

    Out of the 60 questions, first 20 questions carry one mark each, while question No.21-60 carries two marks each. There will be negative marking for every wrong answer, which accounts to 1/3rd for one mark questions and 2/3rd for two marks questions.

    Candidates can find attached GATE model question papers for Physics belonging to years 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009.

    -->It is conducted once in a year.

    -->You should be a BE graduate to attend the exam.

    -->Master degree graduate in any stream from any recognized university.

    -->Final year graduates are also apply.

    -->This score is valid up to 2 years.
