    Download GATE Mathematics Exam Previous Years Question Papers

    The Graduate Aptitude Test allows graduate students to continue pursuing their studies-Masters degree. Students of specific educational background especially Engineering need to sit for this exam and if qualified can take admission in renowned colleges of India to pursue the Masters degree.

    Exam Pattern:

    Candidates can appear for any one paper from a list of 21 papers. Candidates generally appear for that paper in which he or she has completed the undergraduate degree. The GATE exam for Mathematics is a popular one and large number of applicants is recorded in this particular paper every year.

    Complex Analysis
    Real Analysis
    Ordinary Differential Equations
    Functional Analysis
    Numerical Analysis
    Partial Differential Equations
    Probability and Statistics
    Linear Programming
    Calculus of Variation and Integral Calculus

    Duration of Mathematics paper in GATE exam:

    The allotted duration of GATE is three hours. Questions are objective in nature and 65 in number carrying a maximum of 100 marks. Questions 1-25 and 56-60 carry one mark each and 26-55 and 61-65 carry two marks each Candidates need to be efficient in time management to crack GATE.

    Scoring pattern:

    Full marks of the particular question are allotted if the answer given is correct. An incorrect answer results in deduction of some percentage of marks from the total marks assigned to that question. For questions 1-25 and 56-60 one-third of the marks will be deducted whereas for questions 26-51 and 61-65 two-thirds of the marks will be deducted. Candidates are advised to thoroughly read the rules and regulations given in the first page of the question paper.
