    GATE is an entrance examination for seeking admission to engineering colleges to pursue Masters Degree in engineering or masters in technology or masters in architecture. Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering is abbreviated as GATE. GATE is conducted in eight specific zones based on the location of Indian Institute of Technology (IIT). The overall control and coordination of GATE currently lies with IIT, Mumbai.

    Exam pattern:

    Duration of Life Sciences paper in GATE exam:

    The allotted duration of GATE is three hours. Questions in the paper of Civil Engineering are objective in nature and 65 in number carrying a maximum of 100 marks. Candidates need to be efficient in time management to crack GATE.

    Scoring pattern:

    The section of Chemistry is compulsory. Two more sections can be chosen by the candidate as per his or her liking. There is negative marking for incorrect answers.
