    The Bachelor of Library and Information Sciences (BLIS) course is offered by Delhi University through its Department of Library and Information Sciences. This department also offers Master’s course in library & information sciences, M. Phil and Ph. D courses as well in library and information sciences.

    Age requirement for seeking admission to BLIS course:

    For seeking admission to this course, candidates must have attained 20 years and the upper age limit is 26 years on the 1st of October in which he/she is seeking admission. However, the upper age limit is 35 years for candidates, who are in service in the positions of semi-professional assistants or senior library assistants.

    About Basics of Information Technology in LIS paper:

    This paper is offered in the first semester of BLIS course and there are two papers in the same name with one being practical paper and the other being theoretical paper. Code number of practical paper is B-105 and the paper includes subjects under the following units:

    • Unit I: Operating systems and application software
    • Unit II: Database creation and library software
    • Unit III: Database web interface
    • Unit IV: Online and offline searching

    Pattern of question paper:

    There will be five questions in the paper and all questions are to be attempted. Maximum marks for the paper is 70 and duration of three hours is allowed for its completion.
