    The Union Public Service Commission conducts the Combined Medical Services (CMS) Exam every year to recruit MBBS qualified candidates to various offices under Central Government. The selected candidates are recruited in three organizations namely the Railways, Ordnance Factories Health Service and Central Health Service.

    Pattern of exam:

    The CMS exam consists of two papers. Paper I is of 250 marks and contains objective questions to be answered by the candidate.

    Syllabus of Paper I Conventional paper in Combined Medical Services Exam:

    Paper I of CMS Examination focuses on the following concepts of the domain of medicine:-

    General Ability
    General Medicine
    Paediatrics

    Duration of Paper I in Combined Medical Services Exam:

    Paper I is allotted a duration of two hours. Questions are of objective type and a candidate has to select the correct alternative from a given set of alternatives for each question. The total marks of this paper are 250.

    Scoring pattern:

    Full marks are allotted on encountering a correct answer. However, on getting an answer incorrect one-third of the total marks of that specific question are deducted.
