Combined Defense Services Examination, which is shortened as CDS and this examination is conducted as two papers namely CDS (I) and CDS (II). CDS II examination is conducted for selection of candidates to Indian Military Academy, Officers Training Academy, Naval Academy and Air Force Academy. The main eligibility for this examination is that candidates must be unmarried.

Papers in the CDS (II) Examination:

As mentioned earlier, CDS (II) Examination conducted for recruitment of candidates for Indian Military Academy, Naval Academy and Air Force Academy will be conducted for 300 marks in total divided as follows:

• English – 100 marks
• General Knowledge – 100 marks
• Elementary Mathematics – 100 marks

Syllabus for CDS (II) Elementary Mathematics paper:

The Elementary mathematics paper will have questions of matriculation standard and the questions will be from the following main chapters:

• Statistics
• Geometry
• Trigonometry
• Mensuration
• Algebra
• Arithmetic

Pattern of question paper:

Elementary mathematics paper in CDS (II) Examination will be conducted for 100 marks in total and the time duration allowed is two hours. There will be 100 questions with each question carrying one mark each given both in Hindi and in English and for every wrong answer 0.33 marks will be deducted.
