    Cochin University of Science and Technology came into existence in the year 1971 with a view to offer quality PG education in the state of Kerala. Even though, the university was established as University of Cochin, its name was changed into the current name in the year 1986 thereby making it name as CUSAT in short form. The university offers education in nine different faculties being social science, science, medical sciences & technology, marine studies, technology, law, humanities, environmental studies and engineering.

    B. Tech from CUSAT:

    CUSAT offers Bachelor of Technology course through its School of Engineering, which came into being in the year 1979 and B. Tech courses were introduced by the school in computer science & engineering, electronics and communication engineering, mechanical engineering, and civil engineering, the branch of information technology was introduced by the school of engineering in the year 1995, then in the years 1996 and 2003, B. Tech in safety & fire engineering and Electrical and electronics engineering were introduced by the university.

    B. Tech in Mechanical Engineering:

    The university has an intake capacity of 90 students for this course and for getting into this course, a pass in plus two examination from the state of Kerala with physics, chemistry and mathematics as optional subjects or any other examination that is regarded as equivalent is required. It is essential that candidates must have secured at least 50% of marks in mathematics alone and 50% of aggregate marks in chemistry, physics and mathematics course for admission to this course.

    Engineering Mathematics II paper in Mechanical Engineering course:

    Engineering mathematics II paper is offered in the third semester of Bachelor of Technology course offered by CUSAT. Syllabus for this paper is divided into four modules.
