    Download Civil Services Main Law Exam Previous Years Question Papers

    Civil Services Main exam is a tough one for the cowards and an easy one for the sincere. This exam is conducted by the UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) to recruit personnel in the Civil Services.

    Exam Pattern:

    Candidates selected for the Main exam of Civil Services have to work very hard as each candidate needs to qualify in nine papers in the Main exam. Law is generally chosen as an optional subject by those candidates who are from that specific background.

    Syllabus for Law in Civil Services Main Exam:

    The subject Law is precisely divided into two papers namely Paper I and Paper II and the candidate has to sit for both of these.

    Paper I covers the following topics:-

    Constitutional and Administrative Law
    International Law

    Paper II covers the following:-

    Law of Crimes
    Law of Torts
    Law of Contracts and Mercantile Law
    Contemporary Legal Developments

    Duration of Law paper in Civil Services Main Exam:

    Each paper of Law is of three hours in duration. Generally, both the papers are conducted in the same day. Candidates are required to answer questions of 300 marks in each of the paper.

    Scoring Pattern:

    As the answers are meant to be written in a descriptive format, therefore there is no scope of negative marking in this exam. Candidates are generally marked on the quality information, flow of content etc of the answers.
