    Download Civil Service Main Electrical Engineering Exam Previous Years Question Papers

    The Civil Service Main Examination is held on an All India basis by the UPSC. This exam is taken by those candidates who get selected in the preliminary exam.

    Exam Pattern:

    Civil Service Exam offers flexibility to candidates from all background. Electrical Engineering is available as an optional subject in this subject. This subject is especially chosen by the tech guys.

    Syllabus for Electrical Engineering of Civil Service Main Exam:

    Electrical Engineering is divided into Paper I and Paper II. Paper I evaluates a candidate’s knowledge on the following topics:-

    • Circuit Theory
    • Signals and Systems
    • E.M. Theory
    • Analog Electronics
    • Digital Electronics
    • Energy Conversion
    • Power Electronics and Electric Drives
    • Analog Communication

    Paper II of Electrical Engineering encompasses the following:-

    • Control Systems
    • Microprocessors and Microcomputers
    • Measurement and Instrumentation
    • Power Systems: Analysis and Control
    • Power System Protection
    • Digital Communication

    Duration of Electrical Engineering paper in Civil Service Main Exam:

    Both the papers of Electrical Engineering are of three hours in duration, the total mark of which is 300 each. Answers are to be written in a descriptive fashion.

    Scoring pattern:

    Candidates are awarded special credit if answers contain good information and do not contain unnecessary writing. No process of negative marking is carried out in these papers.
