As part of the exam you will need to select one of the regional subjects. Yes you can select French as an option. It is amongst the list of options mentioned in list of optional subject. Since you have been pursuing this subject since school you will be proficient in it. Also amongst the list of options it is considered to be one of the scoring subjects. Make sure you prepare well in the same. Even if you are selecting French it is important that you learn some of the regional language for the future. You must know your mother tongue at least. You must prepare well for the exam. Also do undertake training if any.

    Hi Dear,
As absolutely there is a compulsory subject in Main exam which you have to qualify as a complementary exam ,but i negative point is their in this section ,i.e if you cleared this exam then its ok and otherwise if you can't able to clear the Indian lanuage paper then you are not qualifed in Main examination . The marks which you get in Indian language paper will not be added in your Main examination ,but as conditions apply you have also pass in this exam . Any language around the country can be included in this paper .The languages are : Arabic,Gujarati,Manipuri Sanskrit,Assamese,Hindi,Nepali,Sindhi,Bengali,Kann ada,Oriya ,Tamil,Chinese,Kashmiri,Pali,Telugu,English,Konkan i,Persian,Urdu,French,Marathi,Punjabi ,German,Malayalam,Russian. These are languages which are included in this paper. Thanks
