    Distance education in polytechnic

I completed my 10th in 2008 with 74% and enrolled myself into Diploma in Computer Engineering in a polytechnic college approved by AICTE. However, in my final year I managed to get a full time job and I couldn't finish my final year properly and got dropped out of college and now I have to study the 3rd year again.

But the problem is, I am unable to attend the classes regularly as I also have to attend my full time work. Is their any possibilities for me to switch to a distance education type only for the final year? I can also write all the exams of the final year without any problems as I am well prepared already.

One more question, can I pursue some other course related with computer so that It can help me get any degree?
I am 18 years of age at the time of this writing so I hope you can better solve my question.

    Thanking you,
    With Regards,
    Rahul Malhora
    From Chennai.

Since you have already prepared for the third year exam doing the same part time should not be a problem. You may not need much training. So doing the correspondence course will be apt for you. As per the AICTE norms some institutes are allowed to provide correspondence course too. You need to approach your college authorities. Draft a letter of your current situation and ask them whether they can help you in this matter. Also they will be able to guide in case the institute does not have correspondence course. It is not clear what kind of a job you are pursuing. Also it is not clear what kind of job you would like to do after completing the diploma course. If computer usage is part of the job then definitely you must pursue a course in this area.

Since you are employed at an earlier age, you have a gap in your studies. There are many Universities and Colleges providing facilities to continue studies in the 3rd year. Better, enquire in your college whether they are providing part time education. If so, you can join the 3rd year in your college itself but as part time. Otherwise, you better go for any private tuitions or classes and write only the examination in your college itself. Tell your problem to the college officials. Otherwise, submit a letter to the University officials for specially granting permission for writing the exam. Donít forget to submit examination forms and to remit the exam fee on time. If you are employed in the Government sector, you can apply for long-term leave for studies. If so, you can join the regular classes itself.

    Hello again,

Thank you for your reply, I have already asked my college authorities about it and they told me to look for another college as they do not provide such thing. I am working for a software company remotely (as the company is based in the US) and hold a position of junior developer.

I would require to get a degree and will continue the same wok as I am doing now as I am very pleased to work here. Can I apply for a correspondence degree course with my current certification of 2 year completion?

    Regards,
    Rahul

My dear friend distance education in diploma is not worth because full time diploma means more practical and project works are there to improve ur skill. but part time means less chance only there

you should take help of your sir about this what i should do if i am in this situation and i want to complete my diploma.
but accordinag to mine if possible ,then you should drop the job till your graduation is completed.because after the graduation you will get such a job surely.then why u have a chance to drop your study for a job.
and you have to meet some other college and tell abt your.if they are readu to provide as you tell, then you have to get better solution.and if there is no solution even though then you should leave a job till your graduation is completed.

    Re: Distance education in polytechnic

    Friend,

Yes! you can go for Distance Education in Polytechnic course. Any AICTE Approved University Provide Distance Education. you have to go for Higher Authorities of College.
Higher Authorities Gives you All Details About Distance Education. as you Told that you are Pursing 3r Year Again then Definitely you can go for Distance Education.
Remember One Thing That Distance Education Just Gives you Degree not Knowledge or Experience. Degree is not Important Knowledge and Experience is More Important.
When you Go for Job then There is no Good Effect of Distance Polytechnic Degree. Now Days Knowledge is Important, Knowledge give you Everything.
Knowledge can Give you A Good Job. Distance Education is Just Gives you Degree. Full Time Education gives you Knowledge, Experience, Practice.

In My Opinion you have to go for Full Time Polytechnic Degree. Distance Education is Good but Distance Education Degree Can't Give you A Good Job with Good Salary.
Full time Education Gives you Good Job , Reputation Degree. when you go for Job , you don't have any Knowledge, Practice with Things.

Full Time Education Provides you Job, Practice, Experience.

    GOOD LUCK..............
