    Are distance degree students eligible for IPS exam?

    Can I sit in Ips exams while having distance education degree?
    Hi, Iam Vikram Dhillon student of vfx digital media. In year 2012 Iam in my final year of graduation and want apply for Ips examination. But Iam doing my Graduation from distance education ... So can i eligible for it

    Yes,

    Distance Degree student are eligible for IPS.

    IPS is civil service exam.

    It requires minimum Bachelor degree from recognized university.

    You should be 21 to 30 years.

    you should be citizen of india.

    You should be physically fit.

    For giving IPS exam,the educational qualification should be a bachelor's degree from a university approved by AICTE or UGC.
    He should complete 21 yrs of age on 1st August of that year.
    4 attempts can be given to general category students,7 attempts for OBCs and no limits for SCs and STs.
    The physical fitness should be as follows-
    Height male-165cm
    Height female-150cm
    Ear-good listening and ear cavity
    The candidate should not stammer while speaking.
    Eye sight-6/6 for normal eye

    Any student who have bachelor degree from any recognized university are eligible for IPS exam.so don't worry If any student who have distance degree also eligible for IPS Exam.

    30 years

    Other Backward Classes (OBC):
    33 years

    Scheduled Castes / Scheduled Tribes:
    35 years


    Educational Qualification
    The candidate must hold any degree in any discipline from any recongnized university.Final year degree students is also eligible if the university is a recognized university.


    Number of attempts permitted
    General Category: 4

    OBC: 7

    Physically Handicapped: 7

    SC & ST: No limit on number of attempts

    IPS stands for Indian Police service.

    IPS exam is conducted by UPSC.There are some criteria you have to follow for appearing in IPS exam.This exam is conduct through Civil Service Exam.

    Graduation Degree in any stream from a recognized university are applicable for IPS Exam, the final year students also eligible for applying preliminary examination

    If your distance education is recognized then you are applicable for IPS Exam.

    The Candidate age should be in between 21 years to 30 years . Age Relaxation for OBC candidate is 3 years and for SC/ST candidate is 5 years.

    The maximum attempts for SC/ST candidate is Unlimited. For OBC candidate it is 7 years and for general candidate it will be 5 years.

    Optional subjects for IPS main exam:-

    Economics , Electrical Engineering,Geography, Geology ,History, Law,Management,Mathematics, Mechanical Engineering, Medical Science, Philosophy, Physics, Political Science and International Relations, Psychology, Public Administration, Sociology,Statistics, Zoology, Agriculture, Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Anthropology,Botany, Chemistry, Civil Engineering, Commerce and Accountancy.

    Physical Requirements

    Height

    Male - 165 cm (General) and minimum of 150 cm (ST)

    Female - 150 cm (General) and 145 cm (ST)

    Chest

    Male Minimum 84 cm. Expansion 5 cm

    Female Min 79 cm expansion 5 cm

    Eye Sight:

    6/6 or 6/9 distant vision for good eye

    6/12 or 6/9 for worst eye
