Masters in Science is the most appropriate course out of the list mentioned as you are a B.Tech. The M.Sc course is more appropriate for those of B.Sc background. It is considered more or less equivalent to the B.Tech degree. The Diploma and Certification can be added benefit for you. The duration of these course varies up to 1year. You can pursue these too. You need to decide based on your aspirations and how you would like to attain them. If you would like work and gain experience then it is advisable to do the certification course. However if you want to gain specialisation first the MS course is most appropriate. The duration of these courses is normally 2 years.

With a B.Tech in biotech, the most obvious choice available for you is to go for an M.Tech or M.E or M.Sc. All of these are post graduate courses. These courses are available in almost all reputed colleges in India. As to be eligible for these courses there will be an entrance which each student have to qualify. There is no age limit the join. Even though, candidates must have a graduation in the related field of study with more than 55% of marks. With diploma or other certification courses will definitely add benefit to your career. The duration of these courses will be less than 1 year or so. You can decide to do which ever course you want as per your career aspiration.

Just curious, in the United States, is there a difference btwn MS, MSc, MMSc? For instance, this guy I know says MS is regarded more highly than an MMSC - it's like more 'pure.' ? Any thoughts?

    much obliged.
