    UGC conducts NET exam with an objective to select the eligible candidates for lectureship positions. Through this exam candidates can get in to lectureship positions in government recognized colleges or universities. Post graduation is the qualification necessary for this exam. Candidates who hold a PG degree in any subject with 55% marks can apply for this exam. Reserved category candidates are given relaxation in marks. No higher age limit is specified to attend this exam. For more details you can refer notifications about this exam published in UGC site.

    dear the national educational testing bureau of university grants commission(UGC) conducts national eligibility test (NET) in order to ensure minimum standards for the entrants in the teaching profession and research.

    this test is conducted twice in A year in the month of
    • JUNE,
    • AND DECEMBER.
    if you have a desire to pursue research than JRF(junior research fellowship) is also available for teh five years subject to fulfilment of certain conditions.
    teh JRFs are awarded to you if you are merit student among teh qualifying students for eligibility for lectureship in the NET .
    posts are like
    • lectureship NET: for appointment as lecturers,
    • JRF(junior research fellowship) NET: for appointment as lecturers and also to receive fellowships from UGC.
    EDUCATION QUALIFICATION TO GET ELIGIBLE FOR THIS EXAM
    *if you have secured at least 55% of marks and 50% of marks in SC,T,PH,VH. in masters degree or equivalent examination from universities/institutions recognised by UGC humanities including languages and social sciences,
    computer science and applications,
    electronic science etc..
    are going to eligible .

    * if you are in the final year of your study than also you are eligible for this programme.but you have to complete your PG degree examination with in two years from the date of teh NET exam with required percentage or else you will be disqualified.
    *if you are a PHD degree holder and if your masters level exam was compleated by 19 September,1991 than you are eligible with 50% of marks with 5% of relaxation in marks. i.e from 55% to 50% of marks to get eligible.
    age limit
    lectureship NET:
    you must have 19 years to get eligible and there is no upper age limit.
    JRF(junior research fellowship) NET:
    you must have 19 years and maximum to 28 years to get eligible.

    first session consists of two papers
    paper-1 carries 100 marks and you have to get

    • 35% of marks if you are belong to the OBC CANDIDATE,
    • 35% of marks if you are belong to the PH/VH/SC/ST CANDIDATE,
    paper-2 carries 100 marks and you have to get
    • 40% of marks if you are belong to the general candidate,
    • 35% of marks if you are belong to the OBC CANDIDATE,
    • 35% of marks if you are belong to the PH/VH/SC/ST CANDIDATE,
    paper-3 carries 150 marks and you have to get
    • 50% of marks if you are belong to the general candidate,
    • 45% of marks if you are belong to the OBC CANDIDATE,
    • 40% of marks if you are belong to the PH/VH/SC/ST CANDIDATE,
    how to apply
    you can apply by downloading teh bank challen from in triplicate (bank copy,
    ugc copy,
    and candidates copy from teh UGC website than you have to deposit the test fees in branch of state bank of india with bank charges rs.20.

    application fees cost
    • if you are belong to the general candidate than you have to pay rs.450.
    • if you are belong to the OBC CANDIDATE than you have to pay rs.225
    • if you are belong to the PH/VH/SC/ST CANDIDATE than you have to pay rs.110
    important dates for NET(exam)
    • online registration is opened from 12-04-2012.
    • closing date of online registration is 30-04-2012.
    • last date to send the documents is 7-05-212.
    • date of the exam is on 24-06-2012.
    as the date of the exam is compleated you have to wait for the december exam.

    NET, So please download the syllabus and keep Practice according to the syllabus,
    Only then you will get success in NET Examination.

    NET stands for National Eligibility Test which is conducted by UGC.This exam will be happen twice time in a year.

    Those candidate have completed masters degree with above 55% marks from recognized university are eligible for NET exam.Marks relaxation is provide for SC/ST candidate.


    There is no age limitation for those who are applying for Lectureship but for JRF , Your age should not be more then 28 years.


    From this year NET exam is fully based on objective type Question paper . Even paper III also objective type.


    From this year NET exam pattern should be MCQ type so you can choose some good computer science books and Prepare well.


    For Paper I=>
    It's has 60 Question.Out of 60 Question , you can answered 50 Question.Total marks of this paper is 100 marks.The time duration for this session is 1 Hours (09.30 a.m. to 10.45 a.m.)

    For Paper II=>
    It has 50 question.All Question are compulsory . Total marks of this paper is 100 marks.The time duration for this session is 1 Hours (10.45 a.m. to 12.00 Noon.)

    For Paper III=>
    It has 75 question.All Question are compulsory . Total marks of this paper is 150 marks.The time duration for this session is 2 Hours (01.30 p.m. to 04.00 p.m.)

    NET exam date for June session is already over so you can wait for Next notification for the exam of December 2012.

    Eligibility of NET
    NET stands for National Eligibility Test which is conducted by UGC.This exam will be happen twice time in a year.

    Those candidate have completed masters degree from recognized university are eligible for NET exam.

    For general and OBC candidate must be hold 55%above in masters degree. SC/ST candidate must be hold 50% above in masters degree.

    Part time course are not eligible for NET exam.

    For Junior research fellowship course your age must be in between 19 to 28 years.

    For lectureship ,There is no upper age limit but the Minimum age is 19 years.

    NET exam is conduct because of govt college lecturer and PHD entrance.

    EXAM DATE FOR NET EXAM
    Date of UGC NET entrance test by June last week, 2012.
    Notifications will be published by March last week, 2012
    Final date for online application April last Week, 2012
    Final date of submitting the documents at the center: May first Week, 2012
    Date of common entrance Exam is by December last week, 2011/2012
    Final date for submitting he completed form is by September end, 2011/2012

    NET stands for National Eligibility test and this examination is only for those candidates who are Interested to Join Universities as a lecturer. If your aim is to become Lecturer in future and make your career in teaching line, then NET is only for you. But to apply for this examination you need to complete your Master degree course with minimum 55% marks. Final year appearing candidates are also apply for this examination, But you have to submit your mark sheet after declaring the results. If you have scored less than 55% marks then you will not get your NET Certificate from UGC.

    You have to attained the age of 19 years to apply for this examination, there is no upper age restrictions to apply for Lectureship post, But for JRF(Junior Research Fellowship Post) Your age should not be more than 28 years.

    So, if you have completed your Master degree course then you are eligible to apply for this examination.

    You have to select the subject in NET Examination on the based on post graduate basis only. The list of subjects is also available in the official NET Website. You can easily download from the website.

    There are 3 papers in NET Examination and all are Objective and conducted in same day in 2 session, there is no negative marking in the examination. After examination you will get your carbon copy of your mark sheet, so that you can matched your questions later.

    The examination is conducted in June and December every year, for this year June NET Examination was already completed and if you are interested in this examination then please apply for this examination soon, The December NET Exam notification will be published soon in October 2012 and eligible candidates may fill the application form online from the official website.
