A transport officer is a person who works in the Regional Transport Office of any state to oversee that the people are following the rules and regulations when it comes to transportation or riding the any type of vehicle. This includes checking up of vehicles, checking up on the state of transport systems and roads, and providing help for motorists. If you have decided to become a transport officer, then it is good
that you have some aim and do that only.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION:

A candidate just have to be high school graduate from any recognized school or board.
In some of the states it is required for transport officers to have at least a certificate in mechanics or Automobile mechanics.But that can be obtained in a short period of time.

PHYSICAL FITNESS:

A candidate has to be physically fit in terms of eyesight ,height,weight and must not be suffering
from any disease.

INTERVIEW:
Then a interview of yours will be taken and after that if you are good to be a transport officer then
they will recruit you.Your first rank will be assistant motor vehicle inspector and after this hief motor vehicle inspector after this deputy regional transport officer. Once you become the actual regional transport officer, you will be the head of three transport districts.

The OSPC(ORISSA PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION) has conducted its exam on the date 5 aug 2011
and various other states conduct their own examination so check your state's public service commission's official website.You will get it there.

Eligibility criteria for RTO exam are as follows: -
1. Pass graduation / Bachelor’s degree in any subject or in any engineering stream
or equivqlent from a recognised institute / university.
2. Age - 21 Years to 30 Years for General candidates, 21 Years to 33 Years for OBC
candidates and 21 Years to 35 Years for SC / ST candidates.
3. Nationality - Indian
NOTE: - Final year appearing candidates can also apply for RTO exam.
