    ELIGIBILITY for IES:

    For the Indian Economic Service one should have a Post Graduate degree in Economics/Applied Economics/Business Economics/Econometrics and
    for the Indian Statistical Service one should have a Post Graduate degree in Statistics/Mathematical Statistics/Applied Statistics.

    and the notification for the exam.

    Indian Economic Service / Indian Statistical Service (Overview)


    (A) Tentative Schedule

    (i) Notification of Examination
    June

    (ii) Conduct of Examination
    November



    (C) Age - limits:
    21-30 years on 1st January of the year of Examination

    Certain categories of persons as specified in the notice are eligible for age relaxation.



    (D) Educational Qualification
    For Indian Economic Service Post Graduate Degree from a recognised university in Economics/Applied Economics/Business Economics/Econometrics.
    For Indian Statistical Service Post Grade Degree from an Indian university in Statistics/Applied Statistics/Mathematical Statistics.

    Candidates appearing in qualifying degree exams are also eligible provisionally subject to producing proof of passing along with Detailed Application Form.





    (E) Scheme of Examination

    Part-I : Candidates are required to appear in the following papers of conventional type papers.

    (i) For Indian Economic Service
    (a) General English 100 Marks
    (b) General Studies 100 Marks
    (c) General Economics-I 200 Marks
    (d) General Economics-II 200 Marks
    (e) General Economics-III 200 Marks

    Indian Economic Services:



    This IES Indian Economic Services Examination is also conducted by the Union Public Services Commission in India for the selection of the candidates in to the different economical services all over the India.

    The candidates who had been selected in this IES examination will be appointed as the GRADE A officers and also there will be many of the prospects which are available for these candidates,the Indian Economic Services Officers are generally placed in the planning commission,planning board,Ministry of Economic Affairs,National Sample survey and other allied forces in India.

    Getting in to these IES services you need to satisfy some of the eligibility criteria and up on the satisfaction of the eligibility criteria you need to appear for the written test and the short listed candidates in the written are called for the Interviews.And the selection is done and appointed as the Indian Economic Services GRADE A officers.

    This Indian Economic Services Examination is also equal to the Central Civil Services Examination and this recruitment also comes under the civil services recruitment criteria.
    Qualifications Needed to appear for this IES examination are....
    *Nationality-
    Should belong to the Citizen of India
    *Age Limit-
    Should have attained the age of 21 years and should not exceed the age of 30 years
    *Educational Qualifications-
    Should have completed the Post graduation degree course of study in the respective disciplines of study such as the Economics/Business Economics/Applied Economics/Econometrics for Indian Economic services.
    *Physical Standards-
    Should be Physically fit according to the standards for the Admission in to the Indian Economic Services.......
    These are the minimum requirements necessary for appearing for the Indian Economic Services Examinations.

    The selection procedure or the examination takes place in two level of written test and the syllabus are.
    General English
    General Studies
    General Economics I
    General Economics II
    Indian Economics

    In Indian Economics Paper students got marks upto140 and I stood at 63.Keeping the time in view What is the best preparation of the paper?Thanks in advance.

    Indian economic Service Simply Called IES Examination. IES Exam is conduct by UPSC(Union Public Service Commission).
    This exam is generally Conduct in Month of November.

    This exam Consist Written Exam and Interview. The IES officers are placed in the Planning Commission, Planning Board, Ministry of Economic Affairs, National Sample Survey.


    Required Eligibility Criteria:

    Education: you Must have Post Graduation degree in Economics from recognized University.
    Final Year Candidates Also Eligible for this Exam.
    Age Limit: your age must between 21 to 30 years.
    Age Relaxation: 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC Candidates.


    Exam Pattern:

    General English
    General Studies
    Three Different Papers of General Economics
    Indian Economics

    Each paper is of three-hour duration and is in the form of conventional essay type questions. Exam Language is Only English.
