Re: Are degree students exempted from CPT?

Yes, degree students are exempted from writing the CPT exam. CPT is an entry level exam conducted for candidates who want to pursue a course in CA after 12th class. If you are a graduate you can directly apply for the second level exam that is IPCC. The graduation can be secured in any discipline. If you qualify in IPCC level, you should undergo article ship training. The duration of training is 3 years. The final exam for the CA course can be only attended after successful completion of article ship training.

Re: Are degree students exempted from CPT?

Yes you are right .The students who have got degree can directly apply for the IPCC final level exam.CPT exam is for only those students who haven't got a degree yet .To become a CA a students have to complete three level:

    Common Proficiency Test - CPT
Integrated Professional Competence Course - IPCC
    IPCC Final

The CENTRAL COUNCIL has announced that now a graduates and post graduates students can directly apply for the IPCC level without appearing for the CPT exam.

Only if you fulfill the below Cartesian you will be exempted form taking the CPT exam

Students who have completed their graduation in commerce streams and have studied any 3 full papers of 100 marks each out of::

    Accounting,
    Auditing,

    Corporate Laws,

And have Passed the graduate/post-graduate examination by securing in the aggregate a Minimum of 55% of the Total marks or its equivalent grade from any recognized Universities including Open Universities.

Re: Are degree students exempted from CPT?

Yes, there is a provision providing exemption from CPT (Common Proficiency Test) exam for the graduate students.

Earlier the application for IPCC (Integrated Professional Competence Course) required students who have passed Common Proficiency Test and Senior Secondary Examination (10+2 examination) conducted by an examining body constituted by law in India or an examination recognized by the Central Government as equivalent.

But a graduate student has to meet the requisite score.
A commerce degree holder needs to secure a minimum of 55% of marks to apply for IPCC
and a non-commerce student has to secure a minimum of 60% of marks for the same.
And the stream of graduation is not a problem and thus any graduate fulfilling the minimum percentage criterion can apply for IPCC, with exemption from CPT.

    helo
yes degree student exclude the CPT exam from CA course.
you can directly joint IPCC exam. This is the second level in the CA course. But, it is important for you to complete the graduation course for attending the IPCC exam. If you get qualified in the IPCC exam, article ship training should be attended. The duration of the article ship training is for 3 years. The final course of CA can be attended by only those who have completed the IPCC along with the article ship training.

Re: Are degree students exempted from CPT?

Yes Degree Students are Exempted from CPT.

CPT is the first stage of CA course .

IPCC is the second stage of CA course.

You need to clear CPT to appear for IPCC.

To apply for CPT you need to have completed your 12th.

After clearing CPT you will be eligible to apply for IPCC.

But recently there was a change in this pattern that any Graduation completed students can apply directly from IPCC with our CPT.

To apply for IPCC with out CPT you need to have minimum of 60% in your Graduation.

If your from Commerce Background then you need to have 55% in your Graduation
    .

There is NO-AGE criteria for applying for CA course.

So its clear from above information that Degree students are Exempted from CPT bu you need to satisfy the Percentage criteria as mentioned in the above criteria.

Re: Are degree students exempted from CPT?

    Hello,

Yes , degree holder candidates are eligible for CPT.

CPT or Common Proficiency Test Is entry Level test for CA course. CPT is compulsory to enter in Chatered Accountant Course.

After 12th candidates are allowed to give CPT and graduate can also .

If You have got 60% marks in graduation than you not need to give CPT ,you can direct enter into IPCC level OF CA.

IPCC is second Level Of CA. For Commerce graduates only 55% marks requires to direct entering IPCC .

The Third level Is Final course after IPCC you can do this Artificalship Trainning is must to do.

After competing training you can apply for Jobs .

    Good Luck..
