Re: Which degree course should I study to become an IPS officer?

    Hi aspirant,
    Indian Police Service
There is no such compulsion on pursuing any particular graduation course, you can join any course of your interest but be thorough upon the concepts so that you can crack the stream related questions. Here are some details for your better understanding.

    >>IPS Entry is done through the UPSC Civil services recruitments and these IPS and IAS comes under the civil services of India and candidates after attaining the age of 21 years and with in the age limits of the 30 years can appear for these civil services recruitments..

    >>IPS selections and any other government services recruitments are maximum done only with in the age of 30 years and candidates exceeding these age limits can not appear for the civil services and also any other government sectors recruitments also..

    >>These IPS selections are done through the series of rounds which are considered for the selection process and the main rounds for the selection process are:

    *Preliminary Examination
    *Main examination
    *Interview

These are the main three rounds for the selection process of the IPS selections.

    >>So after the completion of the graduation or bachelor degree in any of the stream of study can appear for these IPS selections with in the age of 21- 30 years.
The candidates should have to appear for each of the selection procedure and after the selection of each round only will be permitted to the next rounds of the selection procedure.

    >>The Preliminary examination is of the Civil services aptitude test and this is of the aptitude and general awareness and this if of the objective type examination in which it consists of the two groups for the examination.

    >>After the qualifying of the Preliminary examination you will be sent to the mains examination and this is of the theoretical examination and it consists of the two optional subjects in which you need to select two optional subjects and should have to clear the main for appearing to the Interview.
