    Hello Friend.............

In order to become an Indian Police Service Officer in future there is no particular degree course to be selected for becoming eligible or to become an IPS.you can choose any of the course of study for becoming an IPS officer and just pass of the graduation or the bachelor degree is enough for appearing to this IPS selections.........
Indian Police Services are one of the Civil Services which are offered by the UPSC and this UPSC conducts the selection procedures for different public sector examinations and in order to get selected for this IPS services you need to have good knowledge as only the Intelligent brains of India are only selected for the Civil Services and it is not the normal task of cracking the civil services as these are one of the toughest services which are offered by the UPSC.............

The Main Civil Services are of the IAS/IPS these services will be having tough competition and these services are one of the most complicative examinations when compared to other examinations...........
These civil services are conducted with strict rules and you need to satisfy the eligibility criteria or the qualifications which are required for appearing to the IPS selections.........
some of the qualifications which are required for appearing to these civil services are........
    Age limit-
You must have attained the age of 21 years and must not exceed the age of 30 years
    Educational Qualifications-
You must have completed the Bachelor degree or the graduation course of study in any of the disciplines for appearing to the Civil services and the candidates who are in the finale year and who are awaiting for results are also eligible for civil services.......
You must be the citizen of India for appearing to these civil services.......
    Number of Attempts-
There are fixed number of attempts which are available for appearing to these civil services and some of them are
    SC/ST-no limit
These are the qualifications which are needed to be satisfied...........

Start the preparation for the IPS selections right now as you had already completed the 12th class, take the coaching right now for the civil services as these examinations are very tough you need to start the coaching and the preparation right now.cover all the topics and after completing the coaching practice the previous papers and also be perfect in all the topics and current affairs.........

Its very good to see your Interest towards the IPS.It is also very good that you are thinking about this from now only. You have no need to worry about this.I mean you dont worry to take the any specific graduation course in this.Because there is no restriction by Upsc to take the subjects in the graduation course. The students are free to take any subject in their graduation course.UPSC does not care about this, But one thing is that you must be graduate in any stream form a recognized university with minimum 55% aggregate marks in the Graduation course.

So Don't Worry dear aspirant! You take your desired subject, And do your best in the Civil Service exam. For more details of this examination you can visit on to the official web site of UPSC.

Re: Which degree course should I study after 12th to become an IPS officer?

For appearing in IPS exam you will require the following eligibility:-
    >>Your minimum age should be 21 years.
    >>You must be graduation pass out from any stream from recognized university.
    >>Your degree should be approved from the UGC.

So from the above conclusion can be made that you are free to study whatever course you want to do.
There is no any partiular specification of any partiular course.
Even if you will do Engineering/Medical/Management course then also you will be eligible for appearing in this exam if you will meet the above eligibility.

If you will do Engineering/Medical/Management course after passing class 12 then your degree will be treated as equivalent to graduation degree thus you will be eligible for appearing in this exam but only at the age of 21 years.

You will have to select the papers for the preliminary as well as for Mains exam.
There will be alist of subjects from which you can select.
In this exam all the engineering/Medical and Management papers are available for selecting except computer science/Information technology.
Thus i will suggest you that if you are going to do engineering after class 12 then you must select that branch that will be helpful for you in this exam.

    hye friend........
[B][U]as you want to become an IPS officer , for that
you should firstly complete your 12th with minimum 60%.
after that its up to you which graduation course you want
to do. usually peoples prefer BA course for its graduation
because as compared to other graduation courses , it is more easy and
it does not take so much time.......
[COLOR="rgb(160, 82, 45)"]it is not necessary that you can only do ba course for the graduation
, you can do any graduation course like Btech, Bcom and many
    other courses for your graduation...

after your graduation , you should fill the form by which you can be
able to give the written exam . when you qualify the written exam
you should be called for the interview and if you succeed there
then you will go to the training part and when you did that part perfectly ,
then you can become an IPS officer.......

Re: Which degree course should I study after 12th to become an IPS officer?

As you may be aware graduation degree is needed to become an IPS officer. You can select any subjects so as to do graduation as per your interest. There is no specification on compulsory subjects to be chosen as part of your graduate studies. Minimum age limit is 21 years. On the other hand, 30 years is the higher age limit for the same. UPSC Civil services is the main exam to be attended. A preliminary exam is the initial level and if you are able to clear this exam can attend main exam. If you get through both levels of written examination, a physical test and P.I will the last options.
