    CUSAT CAT exam

    Cochin University of Science and Technology conducts the CUSAT CAT exam for the selection of eligible candidates for pursuing the various courses offered by the University. The test is carried out for providing admissions to the eligible aspirants for pursuing various first-degree courses like engineering, 5 year integrated M.Sc. programs and bachelors’ in law. Through the test, aspirants can also seek for admissions for postgraduate programs in law, Arts, Science, Business Administration and Computer Applications. Those who clear the test can opt for admissions in various colleges that come under the University. As it is a national level test, and is held in many test centers through out the country, aspirants can attend the test in the test center which is near to their place.

    Structure and Pattern of the CUSAT CAT exam

    The pattern is different for different programs. The first-degree program test consists of 125 questions, while the postgraduate program test may contain 150 questions. It is an objective type test, which comprises of technical and higher aptitude questions. The maximum time allotted is 180 minutes. The mode of instruction for the test will be English only.

    Qualification Criteria for the CUSAT CAT exam

    The eligibility criterion to apply for the first year degree programs is a pass in the XII exam in science disciplines with Maths as a subject. Aspirants should have scored 50% marks or above in the eligibility exam. Graduates in the relevant fields can apply for the various postgraduate programs. The percentage requirement is 55 % in graduation for most Masters’ courses. A pass in the qualifying exam is enough for the SC/ST candidates.

    Application Procedure of the CUSAT CAT exam

    To obtain the forms, applicants can rely up on the official address of the CUSAT. They can also submit their online forms by logging on to the official website of the University. After submitting online forms, they should take a printed copy of the online confirmation page and send it to the University address attaching Challan receipt of the required amount and other credentials specified in the notification. Duly filled in forms should be send only by registered or speed post.
