No for you CPT is Not Compulsory for Apply for CA course.

Normally to get in to CA you need to have completed your 12th.

After completing your 12th you need to apply for CPT and clear it .

CPT stands for Common Proficiency Test.

This is the First Stage of CA course .

You need to clear CPT to go For IPCC which is the Second Stage of CA course.

You can also apply for IPCC with out CPT if you have completed your Graduation with minimum of 60%.

If your from Commerce background then you need to have 55%.

There IS No-Age limit for CA course.

So as you have completed your Graduation with 71% your eligible to appear for IPCC with out CPT.

    Hello,

No ,you not need to give CPT For CA ,because you have scored above 55% marks.

Chartered Accountant is professional course , you can opt for this course after 12th and gradaution .

    CA has three stages :

    CPT.
    IPCC
    Final Course

For CA CPT is must to qualify, but for commerce graduates students who have 55% or above then directly enter into IPCC:

So, you can directly register for IPCC course.

After qualifying IPCC you have appear in Final Exam . You must have complete Artificalship Training.

So, you can directly register for IPCC and not need to appear for CPT.

    Good Luck

If you have done B-com then you can Directly go for the IPCC and Article ship training.

After that you can go for the Final CA.

You will not have to do the CPT after B-com.

And there is no percentage criteria in B-com for IPCC.
