    but you want the career other than medical and engineering....

    there are various Professional Courses :

    BSC

    BSC(IT)

    BSC(CS)

    BSC(MATHS)

    BSC(PHYSICS)

    BSC(Chemistry)

    B-com

    BBA

    etc....

    there are a lot of options other than medical or engineering after 12th....i think you have taken a wise decision by opting out engineering....today there are lot of engineering graduates and many of them are jobless.....well besides medical nad engineering you can go for LAW....LAW as a career option is gaining huge demand these days....you can get into a NATIONAL LAW UNIVERSITY by qualifying the entrance exam CLAT...COMMON LAW APTITUDE TEST.....NLUs are the best in india...besides there are many institutes like that of symbiosis that conduct their own entrance exam....these are private but also have equal name and fame as that of NLUs....there are 16 NLUs all over country.....
    besides these you can:
    BA
    B.COM
    B.SC-- there are a lot of B.SC courses
    B.design
    B.arch----B.ACRH is the course for architecture it is also on huge demand these days
    CA
    IWCS
    JOURNALISM
    etc....
